I'm an Islanders fan and I will hate your team and wish them nothing but misery until Tavares leaves, but I find the "Leafs games are dead because of the suits" thing to be very overrated. I went to JT's last game in Toronto as an Islander and I really liked the crowd. It was a Tuesday In February and there wasn't a single empty seat. Leafs fans kind of remind me of the way I've heard crowds for things like MMA and pro wrestling are in Japan. They can be pretty quiet while focusing on the action, but react to subtle techniques and plays that would go over the heads of a lot of American crowds. My team's fans can be awesome during big games and create a very rowdy environment, but the beer gut guys screaming "Take the Body!" and cheering for hits that lead to odd man rushes against get exhausting.
Your team is far worse than you think. You have one or two d-men that other teams would want at best. Your goaltending is not world class and your best goalie is a prospect. You need to move one of the big boys to free up cap space to address huge glaring needs across multiple areas. To finish that Blue Jays hat is not a Blue Jays hat. It is a virtue signaling hat. Garbage .. which is just like the Leafs.

This core was very poorly developed and progressed. These guys were treated like royalty and paid as such before accomplishing anything of major importance. Financially headcuffing this organization for years to come, if not a decade.
You can shove the personal stats and trophies up their individual butts. Playoffs are what matters. Regular season 8 seed or 1st just gets you a ticket for 1 out of 16 chance to win.
I rather have a team like Panthers or Seattle. Two to 3 decent players and a cast of hard workers, if it means deep playoff runs and consistent yearly playoff series wins.

I just want to clarify one statement- I don’t think the games are rigged!! But as someone who played high level hockey, it wouldn’t be hard at all for players to throw games and predetermine the “final” outcome of the game. As in who wins and loses .. probably one of the easiest sports actually. Knowing puck control the way I do it’s as simple as a goalie letting a soft goal in
John Tavares can be bought out of his 2 years he has a no trade clause but he can be bought out.
