Les séries éliminatoires des Leafs se terminent avec déception pour une 7e saison consécutive

Cela ressemble vraiment à un rituel annuel, se demandant où cela s’est mal passé en séries éliminatoires après une très bonne saison régulière. 1. In my opinion from and outside looking in perspective, I think the Leafs did what they could do under their control to bring in the roster they did. Ultimately it is up to the players, as a whole unit, to perform and produce. Florida's defense and Bobrovsky playing like he did a few years ago before he signed that insane contract really has spurred them on. They had a great gameplan to stifle Toronto's offense and their was always someone in Matthews' face any time he touched the puck. The Leafs didn't have an answer to Florida's gameplan and it showed. I do think they need to move on from atleast one of those core players' contracts otherwise they'll never be able to add any significant depth to the roster in the next few years because their high draft picks are all gone

  2. I hope to see the core 4 going to upper Leaf Mgt to offer a renegotiated salary for 2023 ( home town discount) to allow Dubas. To bring in a top 5 D man and a few stronger 3rd liners. I will probably see the Pres, GM, A/ GM and coaches given their walking papers, and at least 1 of the core 4 traded. Luck plays a role…. the Leafs didn’t get it yet.

  3. Leafs need to trade one of their core 4 and get Connor Hellebuyck as their #1 and Woll as the backup. They still need a power forward similar to Tom Wilson but younger

  4. in 16-17, the Leafs finished 4th and then went in the WC against Washington because Boston had more ROW. Then in 2021 they lost game 7 against Montreal 3-1

  5. This Dude is trying to figure out why the leafs lost and he's wearing a Marner Jersey, haha. Irony!

  6. This would have been a great run in 2018. It’s 2023. That’s issue. Because of all the contracts that are about to expire soon, team is 4 years behind. The core is good, but they keep missing the bus and forgetting to show up from time.

In the regular season, that can be glossed over. You can go through several 3-4 in seven game loosing streaks in the regular season and still get in the playoffs. In the playoffs, you get 1 and your done.

Playoff consistency is always a question mark, but we have a history here. The process is 4 years behind. A playoff team that’s grossly behind schedule. That’s what Leaf fans got for trusting the process.

  7. You go to Toronto for a nice long golf season + too much money!

If someone is willing to take the Tavares contract he should be the first to go.

  8. As a sports bettor, at the beginning and conclusion of a season, I look at teams as either moving closer to or further away from championships. The Leafs didn't improve, the Tampa Bay team is heading downwards (understandable after so many playoff games). The Leafs reached their pinnacle some time ago. The Shanahan plan is a bust. The GM and coach needs to go. The fab four need to be broken up. And as a proud member of FTL Nation, the Leafs are done. They were nothing more than a great regular season team. But in Toronto, complacency is the norm. Cosmetic surgery coming.

  9. Keefe didn't put the right players on the ice at the same time or in the right lines

  10. Youre a hack, just apart of the NHL reality show. Didnt even have the balls to admit the lottery is fixed, you should be ashamed.

  11. Bottom line, Mathews and Marner didn’t deliver when it counted most. They haven’t taken that next step, maybe they never will.

  12. Shanahan will will either can Dubas now or offer him a 1 year deal and fire him mid season.

  13. Obviously the stars on the team need a bit of a shakeup. The only way to do that is to fire someone.

  14. This reminds me so much of the Blues in 2016. Getting past the Hawk's and that first round hump was SOOOOOO huge. A double monkey off our back, and the city went NUTS like we had won the Cup.
Such an event takes an emotional toll. It translates to physical as well. Such huge highs are naturally followed by a let down.
The next series against the Stars was so much tougher than it should have been. They did get by… barely… after failing to put an inferior team out early. Then against San Jose they were just visibly gassed. Drained in every way that word can mean.

After the high of getting past that first round hump the lows were just too low.

    HOWEVER….

We were over that hump and that was huge!!! The next year the Blues won in the playoffs again. Just something they do now 🙂 Three years later they won the Cup!!!
The Cup run also featured a second round game 7 with Dallas, but it was different. The team was relaxed, cool, and confident. The opposite of drained and spent. The whole energy in the city of St. Louis was different. Hopeful excitement more than nervous worry. Some nerves were still there to be sure, but it wasn't as dominate. Reckless Optimism was creeping in. You began to hear the question "How are we going to win this next one?" more than the old "How are we going to blow it?"

This was a big step for Toronto. I knew the first round hump year wouldn't be the Cup year. Too much is spent in breaking that horrible streak. Take heart Leafs' fans!! This year will absolutely make future playoff wins easier. I can't guarantee a Cup, but I know it is possible for you now.

  15. This series has been unique, and it hasn't been touched upon in this video: this is the first time in history when Habs fans have been cheering for Taranna. Habs have Florida's 1st round pick for this year's draft, this was the 17th overall pick unless Florida progresses to the conference finals. Now it's the 29th overall pick, or worse.

  16. There is a lot of skill on the Leafs, I think it would be really interesting to see the core four under new leadership. I don't think Dubas and Keefe can ride this out. The Leafs needs safer management cause I really think this team is one great mental coach and one great head coach away from being a beast of a team. Dubas and Keefe aren't the guys, they're just not.
