    Oilers need to offload Nurse & Yamamoto They don’t stack up defensively and Yamamoto doesn’t provide enough offensively.

    I want to see the Kracken get in, and then have the NHL blatantly rig it for the Kracken like it’s been rigged for the Golden Bettmans. THAT would be HILARIOUS and fitting. Break out the Kleenex

    Skinner is a liability…
    Oilers have a good all round team but have struggled with goalies since the Grant Fuhr days
    Skinner couldn’t stop a medicine ball.

    Heartbreaker. I guess the fella saying the weakness is in the oilers goaltenders was correct. Really too bad. So much talent except in the position between the pipes. Calgary had same issue way back when with Lemelin. You cannot win cups without top of their game goalies. Bummer for alberts all the same. Cheers.

    That's the reason why you need a good team and not just two hard carries. In the playoffs the team always wins.

    Its funny how team's fortunes go…But what McDavid said in his post game is quite true when you look at most teams in the post 1967 expansion era. Most teams with potential and a talented core, have had to have experienced multiple miserable heartbreaking playoff losses in series they could have won in order to finally get there and win it. The NY Islanders a classic example…the Isles (from 1975-79) lost 4 conference final series and one semi before getting to the final and winning the cup. Sometimes it takes that and the addition of one or two players that make the difference…I think Butch Goring coming to NYI was the addition for the Islanders that got them over the hump plus the steady improvement of Billy Smith in goal to where he stole games for them…Winning teams need goaltenders that can pull their assess out of the fire in games they shouldn't have won otherwise. Every Oilers player from their cup years will tell you that they had to lose those first series before they won, to learn how to win. Sometimes though, windows just close on a team and the core players that make the team what it is…especially now in the salary cap/Free Agent. Toronto's window has opened and closed so many times with different core players, it has to be excruciating for Leaf fans. Sometimes I think Pressure packed Markets like TO, Mtl, Boston and the media that feeds the pressure they often fail with good teams. Washington and St. Louis and LA struggled with miserable playoff failure for years…LA won when they weren't expected to with the team they had…the Sutter era teams in LA weren't immensely talented, but played as a total team with stellar goaltending. There is so much parity now, it's really hard to get the finals and win it all…and to keep a team together to endure what it takes. The Oilers are in a position to remain mostly the same corp team but need to get rid of defensive liabilities…namely in their defensive corp., it's killing them. The Leafs are in trouble with that corp, that have not been able to get it done…they wont be the same team next year..that corp is done and for good reason. Teams that win cups always have role players that shine…and usually a player like Tkachuck…they also they get secondary scoring when they need it to help out their best players…and they have shut down goaltending. Florida is looking like that kind of team.

    That just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight!!
    EDM is 1 season away from Drai walking, 2 from McD walking and then it's back to the basement to EDM for another decade..except this time they won't be getting 4 1st overalls in a matter of a few years..
    Also, hilarious as usual to see EDM fans crying about the refs after a loss.. it's either "we're so good that's why get get so many PP" or it's "Whhaaaaaaaahhhh the refs didn't give us 7 PP this game!!!"

    And… once again, McMuffin and Drycleaner will be denied a cup.🥤Good team. But not good enough. Not enough production from the bottom 6. Not enough from the D. And the goaltending? Good. But not good enough to compensate for a team that isn't all that great once you get past McMuffin and the BIG MEAN GERMAN. BMG.

    Watching this series, I think Boston, Florida, Tampa or Toronto would have walked over either of these teams. No margin for error in the East, the West play kind of sloppy by comparison.
