Campbell should have been put in game6, and nurses minutes cut
Same thing that always goes wrong: You can’t win the cup without SOME goaltending here and there.
What about the part of the game where a golden knight grabbed mcdavids stick and pulled it from his hands… or the trip on Yamamoto twice these are a couple blatant penalties missed that could have changed the game…. All series the oilers have been screwed even all playoffs… I think Charles Barkley was right hockey is not worth watching if your not gonna call penalties
Coaching, the Oilers problem is coaching.
Need a better goalie maybe one more star defense men or two way forward
Merge the Oilers and Islanders. One team can't score 5v5 and the other can't score on the power play. lol. You can keep Sorokin in net. Nobody has to change jerseys.
What a happy happy day today. Birds chirping, sun shining and oilers eliminated again. Vegas just became my second favorite team.
Woodcroft what happened not saying playing Campbell would have gave them the win but you gotta try it. In my opinion Campbell should have played games 5 and 6 and oilers would probably be off to round 3 right now.
What a huge missed opportunity. Oilers had a clear path to the cup here.
lol.
They Choked 😂
Games 5 and 6 were very crucial in that series… They failed to respond to pressure..
Oilers team does not have legit plays.. Look how they position themselves in the rink.. no anticipation… No legit passing tactics.. They are a long long way to becoming a solid team.
All goals Skinner is way to deep in his net. As a goaltender giving up bad goals game after game destroys your teams confidence and they're forced to change their style, personally if the oilers had better goaltending I think they would've won in 7 or 6 bad decision keeping him in the series.
You want to win in April. Roll 4 lines. The top 2 forwards were done.
They didn't get 14 powerplays what can they do? 5 on 5 isn't an option apparently lol
Goaltending!!!! Pathetic! Start soup !! Skinner is soft we score they score two right after !
Besides the oilers shitting to bed !! Canadians will never see a cup in Canada !!! Bettman won’t allow it have the refs dictate the game !! Wake up people !!! Boycott the NHL !
Campbell earned a start. Showing loyalty to Skinner killed them. I wanted him to succeed, but you need a goalie to steal a few.
their stars are only focused on scoring and not really on defending. Many of us knew this would happen. Any team with solid D and ok goaltending was going to beat them. Heck, LA was unlucky not to have beaten them the last two years.
Most overrated team in NHL history. Skinner is a terrible goalie.
Jonathan Marchessault went wrong
Look at the final 4. Defense wins championships.
Connor McDraisatl and The Seven Dwarfs are not enough against a balanced opponent in a seven game series….
Too much reliance on powerplay. That only works in the regular season.
Woodcroft is a homer and stuck with his AHL buddy too long. Campbell should've started gm 6. Pulled Skinner 4 times ??? Starts him gm 6 ??? Should've used some press box players..sat Yamamoto and benched Nurse, hes a liability.
So many games we lost because of taking bad penalties. They need to clean that up.
The lumber jack lex pietrangelo slash and 30+ years Canada with out a cup! there is something wrong with the NHL. Not even the NBA or MLB is like this
Oilers didn't "stall". They lost!
Oilers ran into a TEAM! You don't win because you have a superstar or a good power play. Only 2 ESPN "experts" picked the VGK. Smart group you have there!!! GKG
What happens when you get out of the softest division in all of sports. The curse of 1988 continues.
1. No defense
2. They can’t play 5v5
3. Goal tending is still an issue
4. Only relied on power plays for goals
McDavid owes it to himself to ask for a trade to some US team. Edmonton will never win with this team and this coach. How can this team possibly be made better? Good teams have chemistry, this team has to many problems and no leverage to get it.
It all worked out.
Wow… I'm impressed. Button resisted the urge to rip the Oilers. I was expecting a bad take from him.
Brett hull and ovi didn’t win a cup till they learned to play defense 🤷🏽♂️
The League is Broken, anytime we showed momentum they'd call a penalty, holding on jack echil and the pick by stone, calling offsides only against oilers, blowing plays dead when we have a chance to score, Petra only getting a single game for a chop from the 1920's, it's pretty clear canada isnt bringing the cup home when the league wants to sell tickets to the expansion teams in the finals
Opinion. Campbell should have been played more all season, mistake! Skinner was great but after his 2nd fall Campbell should have been their man. 5 on 5 was below the bar. I don't like parts of the Oilers systems at all. A more experienced coach would have made many small effective moves. The Oilers were NOT good enough on defense. Offence wins you games defense win championships. Too much chasing and individual efforts. To win you MUST ware out the other team with more puck movement and less skating .They have the team to win it but were out coached.
Edmonton Oilers should get Quick
It’s our usual problems. Our team not showing up & relying too much on McDavid & Draisiatl, our defence is the worst, wtf is Ceci doing on the 1st defensive line? Easily the worst defenceman in the league & putting a lot of pressure on Skinner when he had zero playoff experience. As an Oil fan I won’t be surprised if McD & Drai leave at this point.
You can say that this season was a failure for the Oilers, but they lost to the Stanley cup champions last year (although it was a sweep), and this year they lost to Vegas, but Vegas actually looks like they could win the cup this year with how good their defense is (shutting down McDavid and Draisaitl). It's not like the Oilers are losing to bad teams here, they are losing to actual Cup contenders.
Canada teams don't belong in the NHL
