Did he really just say what I think he said? "You won't see me pop up elsewhere, I can't put them (the Leafs) through that after this year." Translation: "Hey Leafs, I would hate to take my skills to another team, come back and use them on you. Because you know, I'm such a winner and know what I'm doing." Guy's the definition of smug.

Dubas should stay, it would be a mistake to fire him. He gave them a team that could win, it was the execution that was the problem and that falls on the coaches and the players.

I know it's unfair but trade Nylander In the June draft. Don't resign Gustafsson, O'Reilly, Kerfoot, and please don't resign Holl 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🤣🤣🤣. Resign Kampf, Acciari, Bunting, Schenn and Samsonov. Buyout Murray and JT. Fire Keefe. Keep Dubas unless u can find a gm to replace him. The best gm already signed with teams like Holland, Nill, Sakic and Yzerman their teams not letting them go.

I would like to see Matthews get another try, I really think he was nowhere near 100%. Marner was my favourite of the bunch, but some of his comments and the way he played against FLA has changed that. Tavares isn't enough but it is his cap hit that kills us. Willy has a lot more to give, I think if he comes out from the 16/34 shadow, he will shine. We also have Knies, who looked great!
Trade 91, make Reilly captain, and teach these guys to play tough, really tough, give 120%!!!
The issue is the contracts, you do not want to lose a player like any of the core-four and get nothing back. Sure, you free up cap-space but you need a return.

This sounds like a man that thinks he has a choice of the matter. Im pretty sure he was going to get fired and the reason he sounds so discourage is because he knows that. It’s a business after all, he didn’t max out the profits, it was only a matter of time. It happens to the best people. Results matter, he didn’t get it. He was fine. Players didn’t back him with their play. Unfortunate.
Why would an original six team have such an inexperienced manager. This guy is a terrible manager.
Dubus is gone, matthews wont re-sign, Willy get traded, and next year.. no cup. So there is next seasons for ya… oh ya Willy goes to Flames
You can't look at this roster and blame Dubas. It's easily the best Leafs team I've seen in my lifetime thus far and he can't skate out and force the star players to show up. Getting rid of him would be a mistake, but I do think serious consideration needs to be made for getting rid of Keefe. He was out coached every game of both series, and a coaching change is lot easier to facilitate than moving the core four. This off season is gonna be massive for the franchise.
