  1. See Igor Larionov and Dominik Hasek in Detroid reminds me all tournaments that was playing during the USSR era where chance they will be playing together in one team was equal to zero. I remember both since their beginnings until they finished their reach and successful careers …

  2. As much as I love that Yzerman goal, that Draper shot will forever be a favorite. Talk about a perfect pass and a perfect tip right into the net. The chemistry that these teams had was undeniable.

  3. Is it odd that every OT goal the Wings were involved in, the Wings eventually won or was a series winner except for the two OT goals scored by Grind Liner Kirk Maltby.

  4. Kris draper 1998 game two vs Washington in the finals, yzerman vs St Louis game 7 2OT 1996 is the most unbeatable but I have great memories of staying up until 2:30am Eastern Time here in Michigan to watch Shannahan beat Anaheim in game 4 to sweep the ducks in 3ot 1997 semifinals

  5. Don’t worry about the Red Wings. Everything comes full circle, especially in sports. They’ll be back soon enough.

  6. Wow….. getting to hear Ken Daniels and Gary Thorne, two of the greatest voices in hockey, was phenomenal. Thank you for this video.

  7. Bellfor -balls anyone from Detroit Drew and Mike WIRF Bellfor-Balls in the 90's or Bellfor-blows you are from Detroit Bellfor played in Chicago at the time one hell goalkeeper.

  8. yzerman hoisting the campbell like a championship trophy has to be the weirdest thing to see these days

  9. the look of pure joy on The Captain's face when he buried that double OT goal still makes me smile.

  10. 7:40 I like that glow puck ! I know I'm probably in he minority but I think its' cool.

  11. Man, that goal by Konstantinov at 2:42 was incredible. The announcers were still talking about the Chicago play just before that, and Vlad just takes the puck in the neutral zone through FOUR Blackhawks and snipes one past Belfour, damn!

And Brendan Shanahan's goal at 9:06 was just facepalming for me, even as a Red Wings fan. To see Anaheim bungle that so badly. I watched it in slow-mo several times, watching as Yzerman got it out front to Lapointe, with one Anaheim guy near each of the two 'Wings, then 2 other Anaheim players near the right circle come flooding over to the puck, nearly squashing their goalie, completely tying him up, and leaving Shanny wide open! That is a terrible defensive move, especially in a potential series-clinching game in OT!

Also, seeing Scotty Bowman chant along to Blur's "Song 2" at 11:10 was hilarious!
