2:39 you're insane, Byfield, Durzi and the draft picks are enough, LA would never give Clarke AND Byfield for Matthews
The only way these trades work is if Matthews extends with the team that he is being traded to. I guarantee that's not going to be possible. If it gets to a point that Matthews needs to be traded, it will be as a rental. Matthews is the type of guy that WANTS to test Free Agency. I also doubt that LA offers that kind of salary to Matthews.
Trading Matthews is a must if you cant re-sign him and Matthews would like a team like LA I'd package Matthews and Nick Robertson for like Iafalo Clarke Byfield and a 1st I'd do that trade you get a 6'5 Center in Byfield you get a good 2 way center/LW in Iafalo then you get a potential Top 4 Right hand shot Defenseman in Brant Clarke

Matthews, Robertson, Villeneuve to Chicago for Bedard, Entwistle and Connor Murphy (your 2nd pair D man). The package is reasonable and cheap. Bedard could be good but it will take him a few years to get going.
Bring back Connor Brown cheap. Use him on the PP and last 5 minutes of every period.

Matthews to Montreal for Caufield, Xhekaj and Montreal’s first pick in the upcoming draft. (5th overall) Toronto’s skilled but smaller forwards would play without fear of reprisal with Xhekaj in the lineup. Moreover Xhekaj’s not a defensive liability. CMN.
A trade Marner before Matthew if Matthew resign
Habs fan here and with honesty if the Leafs was my favorite team after everything you endured i would like to see 2 player get trade between these for Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares you need a really good shake up to wake up the team and make the statement that we no longer gonna accept mediocrity
