  1. Loving the ability to 1.5x the audio/video speed, thank you YouTube for this feature.

  2. The problem with Dubas and I’ll say it time and time again is that he lets the team and players control him, rather than controlling them and forcing them to up their game in order to sign big deals. He’s created a team of spoiled snowflakes. Each of the core four got all the money, toys and whistles they wanted out of Dubas without anything to show for it. My advice for Dubas is to put his foot down more and make guys prove their worth.

  3. Can you improve the team with a trade of the core 4… thats the only question… you aren't trading for the sake of… because that makes this team worse. If you're getting a Tkachuk for a marner… sure. But if you're getting a prospect and a bunch of picks, that doesn't help now.

  4. Johnston. What’s wrong with you???? His plan didn’t work and conceivably cost the Leafs a championship. His stubborn and misguided philosophy kept the organization losing annually. Accountability is required in winning organizations. Dufas does not get a pass because he’s had success in the regular season. I’m disappointed with you!

  5. The more I have thought about, the more I think they have to keep the core. The rest of the team needs some work. One scary top 6 or top 9 guy, more grinders like Acciari, and a scary d-man. The cap is the biggest issue.

  6. Let's be completely honest: when your team hasn't won a championship in over 50 years, you haven't a clue as to how to win. Proud member of FTL Nation.

  7. Gonna listen to Kyper now where harsh realities of sports are understood

  8. Dubas' comments today will let him walk away with some dignity and for resume purposes he was not fired. His contract just expired. Unofficially, he knows there is no contract offer forthcoming. His comments allow him to 'save face' and avoid being fired. He doesn't need work in the next few weeks and can wait many months for his next NHL opportunity to surface, probably in the USA.

  9. What CJ said about the mindset (last 4 min or so, yeah I watched from start to finish) was exactly how Nylander behaves, and exactly why he is usually the one to make things happen in the playoffs. I will add that the word “fun” is used in the manner to simply say: I am ready to accept and face the challenge, and not backing away.

  10. Let's say there was a playoff game with 14 penalties. Why are you automatically blaming the refs for calling them instead of the players for committing them? Until that attitude changes we are never getting rid of this prison rules BS.

  11. The Dubas water carriers have completely flipped the narrative. Shocking stuff. 🤣

  12. Matthews earned from a cap perspective isnt the biggest deal. If your the Leafs you hold some leverage in that if ur not in toronto u dont get the same Ad revenue anywhere else in hockey. Add revenue can hold greater value as its not affected by cap nor do u lose additional income to CBA escro. Part of the reason Tavares signed in Toronto for 11m vs the 13m the sharks offered him way back when was because Toronto marketing team pitched him on how he will more than make that money back.

  13. As an Austrian i love the mention of the "Austrian" Hockey League (which is an Multi-National Leauge), even if it's a slight critical remark to our referees 😉 Great Pod!

  14. Nothing against Tavares but that's when things went south not because of his play but the contract just way too much money

  15. Why do ALL the Leaf podcasts give the Leafs SO many excuses and outs. Most would love if they ran it back.

  16. Lemeuix sent Dubas a text and told him he can come to a die hard hockey town and his family doesn’t have to get harassed in public.

  17. See the problem is that Marner makes so much money that you won’t get value for him either. You could try to trade him for Chabot or a guy like him, but no one wants to take 11m in salary

  18. I won’t be sad if Dubas and Shanahan walk away from the Leafs because they don’t deserve any more chances after 5 and 9 respective seasons, and their rules, and only a single playoff series win plenty of evidence did determine that their strategy to make a Leafs anywhere NEAR a Cup contender has utterly failed.

  19. Make the first round bigger and institute a first round by for a few teams. Makes the regular season matter, skilled teams benefit cause they're not beat up by the first round and lower teams get playoff revenue?

  20. What was Toronto's Achilles heel? Goaltending, you can have all the talent but if you have a goalie that lets in soft goals at least 1-2 a game then your not going anywhere. If you want to win you need a goalie who can steal those games you shouldn't be in or make huge saves to let you go the other way and score.
