Theirs goalies like our former backup Broissant as an example that would suffice. Lotsa good players in NHL sitting on benches as big $$ players hog the icetime.
I would miss Bucky and there’d be some rough years ahead but with his value right now and the demand some contenders have for a good goalie, the return for him could kickstart a new era for the jets
Plenty cheaper goalies that do well, we can invest in team defence instead. If Helly wants to go. However I think we can sign him a year more, to allow him another shot to win with the team. I think this makes sense for both parties
Yes trade him, wpgs own fault for being 3 years behind in goalie development, Get Vamelka, Any long term Helle contract will be a Bryzgalov 2.0. He plays too much , need a 1 , 2 rotation
I would trade him for 3 or 4 good young prospects. They need more team speed.
100% trade hellebuck the return will be amazing and salary cap benefit
Never pay a goaltender 10 million dollars
It would be interesting to talk to a scouting expert to hear about the prospect pools of the « contenders » that might be in the market for 37, 80…maybe even 55…because to Hus’ point, if the contenders are « right there » then you’re not getting good roster players and they’ve often spent a lot of draft capital to get where they are, so the Jets might not have a choice but to take futures if that’s who they’re trading with.
