  1. Marner, Lilejgren, 2nd rd. for Nikolaj Ehlers, Mark Sheifele, Logan Stanley

  2. any trade only makes sense if you're getting an equivalently valueable defenseman in return. If you're trading any of matthews, marner or nylander, they're all moveable if you get a #1 defenseman in return. They can probably replace like 70-80% of whoever they trade with a cheaper piece. But that #1 defenseman is gonna make up the difference + probably give you some 2-3mil cap space

  3. Mitch Marner is THE best player on the Leafs. Trade Matthews if anyone.

  4. I disagree with Button. Laughs have play drivers, infact that's all they have. They need a tough guy.

  5. Fire Shanahan and Dubas. Trade NYLANDER (defensive liability), and HOLL (horrible at defense) for starters…Matthews should stay if he is willing to resign for a decent amount…Tavares should go due to his paycheck…keep Marner and get a tough guy to help protect him (like a Matt Martin)…resign O'Reilly, keep Keefe…

  6. Trade Matthews for Jack Hughes. Trade Marner for Doughty.
    Trade Tavares for Erik Karlsson.
    Trade Nylander for Hyman.

  7. They should have traded Matthews and Tavares last year. There was obviously something wrong with this group and they needed to shake it up. Teams like Vegas and Seattle are new and they’re doing better than the Leafs.

  8. Send Nylander to Arizona for Schmaltz + picks. Schmaltz is signed for 3 more seasons at 5.8 cap hit (but the actual $ they’re going to have to pay him is a lot more). Where as Nylander is 6.9 for 1 more year, but the actual dollars being paid for that 1 season I think is in the 2 million range. Perfect for Arizona. They save tens of millions of dollars over the next few years, and can easily swap Nylander at the deadline for a 1st.
Leafs get a young and productive 2nd line center that isn’t a defensive liability like Nylander is (at a very reasonable cap hit)

  9. One of the double digit contracts need to go. No team has ever won a cup with a double digit salary on their roster. Pens and Tampa had players from 8-9.5 and that’s the closest there’s ever been to double digits. Toronto has three players making double digits and then another two players at 7 mil as well as a goalie making 5.5 mil who is on the sideline lol

  10. TSN Sports Net it's not worth talking About Trading these Guys What and WHO would they Get in Return for THEM tell LEAF FAN'S DRAFT picks not good.

  11. Matthews to Chicago for 1st overall pick, you draft Bedard, you free up cap space to spend on defense and goaltending, and you can afford to sign Tavares for a way more realistic long term contract around $6 million. Toronto should be investing in players that want to die for the team to win a cup instead of putting top dollar first, you don’t win the cup with multiple players trying to land top dollar contracts

  12. As a leafs fan even i get tired of the recycled talking points.

Matthews signs for 15 million trade Marner and use that left over 5 million to bring back Aki Berg.

  13. Trade speculation is cute but other teams aren’t going to pony up a ton of picks and/or prospects for either of those contracts. They may be stuck with Matthews for one more year.

  14. Bla bla bla buzz off with mathew tkachuk . All the sports journalists talk about him as the best invention since ice cream, nobody talked about him last year after the flames elimination ; and don't forget he still won nothing

  15. dubas let mccann go, evan rodrigues was in the organization, probably a few others so might as well let go of the only good players the leafs have left sure trade marner and matthews makes so much sense.

  16. Matthews for Fantilli, Jones and Comtois.

Nylander for Crouse and either Guenther or 12th in 2023.

Get Ryan Graves and Miles Wood.

Kerfoot, Bunting for Greenway and 13th (Matthew Wood as 2C).

    Bonk drafted at 28.

Sign Bouchard if Edmonton lets him go.

  17. Tavares going would be the best for the team, but JT's on his retirement ticket and he's already checked out.. he aint waiving shit.

  18. Look at all the experts in the comments. The Leafs do not have a magic store where you can go trade the players the have for other players that will win the cup.NONSENSE
