Love the idea of having a first rounder in this stacked draft but I’m wondering who we will have to move for it

Playing HARDBALL with Bratt’s agent right now

    That’s a spicy meatball.

Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if only one of bratt or timo are signed and the other is shipped out for assets. No clue what a trade for either one would look like.

Hot take is we sign Timo, and bratt is a sign and trade for a dope return including a high first rounder.

Bratt may want to play here but his agent is a twat. Bratt is his biggest name iirc. He’s going to be looking for that payday.

Interesting that we would use assets to get a pick. Fitz seems to prioritize keeping the cupboards nice and full. But if you trade him for picks, there’s not much in the UFA market to fill that spot in the top-6, if you’re all right and Bratt is what goes. I think I’d rather them do something like Bratt for DeBrincat.

I have my doubts that they’ll be able to trade into any sort of valuable 1st round spot. You’d have to trade a young guy which is pointless or someone like Palat or Bratt. Blackwood’s rights wouldn’t come close to a 1st that isn’t like late twenties. Not sure what TF’s plans are but I’m cautiously optimistic. Like maybe Sevo’s UFA rights and someone like Walsh or Clarke or something? No clue.

Bratt is the most obvious one but I find it pretty unlikely. That being said there’s a decent bit of smoke with Hughes’ comments and then this veiled threat by Fitz.

Bratt is the only one that would make sense, given the history, that could be a roster player that they’d give up for a first.

not capping or trolling NJD woulda been better off with holtz or foote in the lineup over bratt this playoffs

I know everyone is looking at Bratt and Timo, but we have a lot of top tier prospects in our pool and not enough roster spots. A rebuilding team with a weaker pool could put together a nice pick for player package.

The likelihood of getting someone at 26 that pan out better than Timo is unlikely. 1st rounder very well spent

I like how vague this is, like does it mean we’re going to trade a player for a pick, trade up for a better pick, or are we just going to snatch a great player in the second round? Keep me on my toes Fitzy babe

Would Holtz be who he’s talking about here?

If we sign Bratt and Timo, do we need Holtz?

  13. BruceCable

Could be mean a former first rounder? 😉

I know this year’s draft is supposed to be deep, but the Devils don’t really need a 1st-rounder. Keeping their 2nd-rounder at pick 58 is find.

If a Sharangovich can get them something higher up than 58, go for it. He’s probably the best piece to trade for a higher pick.

And if he does get traded for something higher than 58th pick, that’s a win for the Devils.

I mean that’s fine but I wouldn’t feel comfortable at all going into next season with our current goaltending situation. This needs to be #1 priority IMO.

    Hold up….. let him 👨🏻‍🍳

Fitzy calling Chicago about that 1OA pick lmao

I have full faith in GMTF making the right move- very curious what he could have in the works or if this is more just a general statement. My guess is if Bratt doesn’t take a long term deal he gets traded in a similar fashion to Debrincat. Bratt for a top 10 pick+ wouldn’t be bad. Maybe michkov drops to around 5 or 6 and we nab him. That would be fun in a few years.
