God I hope Carolina wins the Cup. I picked them preseason,but thought they were toast,after losing 3 of their best players for the season. They are the only contender,with remotely as bad of injury luck as the Avs this yr. BTW-with the exception of last yrs Cup run-how are the Avs always among the most injury cursed? Not usually like this yr-basically a historic screw job by the injury gods.But this kinda happened the COVID YR…TWICE! Before the shutdown-then in the bubble.Hows Dallas never get injuries,but we always do? Is it all dumb luck? Does our training staff play any role? I have no idea-& ya know a lot is just bad luck. But its kinda becoming a trend hard to pin all on pure bad luck.
Every other team left,I either hate the organization(Vegas,& Dallas)hate the fan base(Dallas,Vegas,& Seattle…Florida really has no fanbase)-or hate how lucky theyve got,& that the biggest reason they are still alive,(granted they still do deserve SOME credit for finding a way)-is basically the hockey gods decreed it.(FLORIDA,SEATTLE…& to a lesser degree-Vegas,& Dallas. Latter mainly being 3 yrs after getting to play a badly compromised Avs-with Michael freaking Hutchinson in net games 5-7…this yr they benefit from almost 500 lost Av man games,while barely suffering 80 themselves).
LETS GO CANES! On 2nd thought,while hockey will always be my favorite sport-also the most random by far. I hate how these playoffs have gone so much(even taking the Avs out of it)-I cant even watch these games…Ill just pull for Carolina-& immerse myself in Nuggets-Lakers. It seriously discusts me to even watch,knowing how lucky Seattle got on so many levels-on,& off the ice…& they arent even the worst case.Had Pittsburgh beat Chicago at home-the team that just got the #1 pick-the Panthers wouldnt even have made the playoffs.Its just bad for the game,my opinion-when the teams left standing,are really just the teams with the biggest 4 leaf clovers left in their pocket.

Considering their "luck"-the Avs overachieved this reg season,& owe no appologies for how hard they fought vs Seattle. And I figured all this buzzard luck would catch up with us vs Dallas. But in spite of it all-Avs deserved to beat Seattle,despite every break KRAKEN the other way-on,& off ice. The better,& more deserving team didnt win game 7,& we all know it.We got some breaks last yr,& can console ourselves with cliches like "next man up," or "you make your own luck." And theres SOME truth to all of it. But deep down,we know its mostly bs-they just flat out got lucky-look at the 1 goal in game 7-& Avs got no breaks-& pissed all on by the hockey gods-basically from day 1 in October…& it never stopped. They deserved so much better. And im the guy who killed them after the Vegas series-& said they got exactly what they deserved.Players,& organization for a disastrous deadline. But thats just not the case this yr…well maybe the organization a little-for not doing enough at the deadline-but not remotely to the extent of 2021.
