We can only hope. Get this selfish loser off the team. He’s the main problem.

Honestly if people just started sharing articles from exactly a year ago we would not be able to tell the difference

I feel like most of these trade suggestions were lifted from the armchair GM thread.

Aside from the trade with Columbus and, to a lesser extent, the one with Vancouver, I see absolutely no reason why the other teams should accept these deals. Of course, none of these trades will happen anyway, but still.
Edit: Maybe Marner for Dubois straight up, too. But Dubois seems to have his eyes fixed on MTL. I think Marner tends to get overvalued in these mock trades quite a bit. You surely can’t deny his skills but let’s not forget about that contract.

The Avalanche trade is hilarious. A 100 pt Selke finalist for a player with tremendous upside. Byram is intriguing but no chance it would be 1 for 1

Weirdly enough the Canucks trade I like only if Matt Murray goes the other way but I like Samsonov enough to hope that he sticks around and the Winnipeg trade sounds possible but there are alot of M NTCs and NMC to go through in order to make it happen

100 points a year, lead the team in points in playoffs. This fanbase is brain-dead.

I think a trade that makes sense would be Marner for a high level young defender (20-22 years old) on an ELC and higher picks.
Opens up tons of cap space that can be used for FA’s and injects some youth into the lineup extending the window.

That Winnipeg trade is intriguing. I hate PLD but if you can get him to sign long term he might be the type of asshole player we need.
You’d want to be real careful trading with Winnipeg though – you don’t want to bring whatever is wrong with their locker room to Toronto.

If you’re going to point to Florida as a team to emulate, then trade Marner for Bobrovsky this offseason. He’s the main reason Florida is in the third round so far and the Panthers will say yes to the trade the second they pick up the phone. Seems easy enough.

>but Boeser is a decent scorer

Boeser and Marner score goals at basically the same rate (28.6 goals/82 vs. 27.1) and Marner is way better at playmaking and defense. Boeser also misses more time. I don’t see what he brings to the team. What are we doing here?

I like the LA deal a good bit. Clarke will lead your back end in the later years of Rielly’s contract, and give you a solid #1 RHD. Byfield still has a good bit of developing to do, and he was drafted as a centre, but he’s so far been better on the wing. Does he become a big, physical 2C to roll out behind Matthews?

Trade AM34 to the Rangers for Shesterkin and Fox or Trouba

Marner for Seider and a couple draft picks

Marner for McAvoy is hilarious just because they’re both semi-locals who love playing for their respective teams. I know it’s a business and all, but both guys are among the most loyal guys on each team.

These trades (barring McAvoy, which would be intriguing) are absolute braindead. How ‘Sillinger and more’ tabeled is a joke, but I don’t expect much else from the Sun

all of these trades are stupid or impossible. marner for mcavoy? yeah right lol. love the perennial armchair GM phase of the year.
