Something must have happened. If this was a normal clearing house firing he probably would have been fired with gallant. What a shame man
I was saying last week if him or Benny left I would actually start to hate the FO
This is a weird move.
Been with the team almost 30 years, highly qualified.
I don’t think we’ve had any abnormal injury situations that would even require us to look at our training staff.
Maybe they couldn’t agree on a salary? I can’t come up with any other reason as to why you let go of the guy, I’ve never heard a bad thing about him anywhere.
What?! Very odd
*WTF*
What the fuck?
This was unexpected.
Well that’s a shock, I figured Ramsay was one of those « you have a job here as long as you want it » type guys.
Holy shit that is out of no where. More will come out. If not…what the fuck.
This is not the 1994 record I was hoping to beat this year.
That actually makes me pretty sad
who’s mika going to hug now?
It’s gonna be so weird watching a game without hearing Sam say “and here’s Jim Ramsay, athletic trainer for the Rangers; out to check on *insert player name* after that crushing it, by Jacob Trouba”
dang he was such a rangers staple
WE RIOT!!!
That’s fucking weird. I can’t imagine why they did this. Bummer.
Dude what the fuck. I hate this organization.
Every time a Ranger gets hurt in a game Sam & Joe rave about Jim Ramsay and his amazing staff being the best in the business. He’s also been with the team for 30 years, which says a lot in and of itself.
As just a fan, I have no reason to disbelieve Sam & Joe, but that’s basically all the information I’ve got to go on. When there’s an information vacuum like that, it gets filled with rumors and speculation.
We know there must be more to this story, but have to resist the urge to contribute with wild guesses. If there’s no more concrete information released, and I doubt there will be, then just have to accept that we’re not going to know, and that we can’t pass judgement on this without more info.
My only guess is that both agreed to depart.
He’s 58 years old. Could be time to move on.
And if the NYR had any issues with him my guess is probably the need to modernize the standards. Likely more data being implemented and a lot of older guys aren’t ready to transfer over.
This is the last straw. Buying a kraken jersey.
woah!
What?? It’s going to be weird not seeing him on the bench anymore
But why? Ramsay is one of the best trainers out there!
Yeah, that’s a strange one. I know he is highly respected in the league.
We happened to have a mutual acquaintance, Ill try to see if I can find out what went down.
Somehow, Glen Sather survives, yet they let Jim Ramsey go. How does that work? Jim Ramsey has never been the dead weight that’s held this team back. Sather is no better than John Muckler at this point.
They need a trainer who is younger and more up to date on all the latest and greatest. Maybe Jim is getting tired? All the travel? Who TF knows. They obviously had a reason.
Can we get a Jim Ramsey highlight video of him running on the ice to help injured players throughout his career with Sam and Joe commentary?
This is a shock more than anything else. I wonder if something happened to lead to this
This is weird. Ramsay, Allaire and Cass Marques are pretty much the only guys who have been untouchable through so many coaching and front office changes because they’re all seen as world-class at their jobs
If Allaire goes, we riot. Ramsay is a familiar name, been around the team forever. But there’s no such thing as forever in hockey . Maybe he decided it was time and they let him out of his contract to do what the next chapter of his life is
Losing Rammer was not expected
I’m hoping this was a retirement and not a firing…
That being said, the situation with Lindgren’s shoulder this season wasn’t a good look for our training staff, but it is what it is
WHY
Is it possible that they already got negative feedback from some of the prospective coaches about carrying over so many positions that coaches normally get to fill with their own guys?
I know in sports like football the head training staff will commonly change with the coach, is carrying a guy over as long as Ramsey common in hockey?
Ill say it again….the Devils broke this franchise

Rammer 🫡
Could it be that he got “fired” because he wanted to retire with a severance package
