The way this season has gone so far should serve as hard lesson for the front office. The Phillies have too many overpaid players that they're trying to get their ROI from… and for whatever reason, they're just not producing. Those big fat contracts may have gotten them the players, but those inflated salaries should not have been determined on their past records. A performance based bonus pay structure would make a lot more sense.
Rob Thomson should be thinking about what just happened to Doc Rivers, and act a little upset about the losing streak. I can't see another ball club kicking a door in to hire him if he's fired.
