  1. Backing into the playoffs means the other teams aren’t playing well either so…
Yeah, it was a nice streak but missing this year should be demonstrative proof we aren’t good enough as currently constituted.

  2. Part of me wishes they'd miss the playoffs so they'd get a wake-up call and take measures to fix things, but I'm not confident that Sullivan, Hextall, and Burke would get the message.

  3. Maybe missing the playoffs will be a lesson that finally gets through to them🤔 but then again they are millionaires so who knows. Real truths will come in the offseason. Like if they bring back Jarry or a number of the other usual suspects. If they do then we will know. As far as I’m concerned everyone is expendable except Crosby Rakell and guentzel.

  4. At least Heinen is trying to score around the edge of the goal, instead of the other 60 shots going into the goalie's chest or getting blocked.

  5. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s just not our season DK. We objectively played a million times better than the sens and lost to a guy making his first start ever stopping 50 SHOTS. Are you kidding me 😢😢 it literally dosent make any sense. I feel like we’ve actually had a lot of games this season where we just don’t get rewarded for our effort and you haven’t talked about it enough. With that being said tho, I don’t think this team can overcome their problems tho.

  6. Dk, I agree with the same old keeps happening, but is this the worst finishing team in the league? It's unreal how this team makes other goalies look great. Ferg played well, but man, 80 percent of those almost 50 shots hit him square in the chest. There is a reason we have been "goalied" way too many times this season for it to be a coincidence.

  7. In my opinion I just chalk this loss to bad luck more than anything else. Sometimes that is the case lol.

  8. Had to freak out when he said”good Wednesday morning” because i was supposed to already be in a meeting if it was Wednesday. 🤣 phew!

  9. Pens need a summer off to reevaluate what the heck they are doing….and looks like they might get it.

  10. They destroyed the sens last night, except in the 1 thing that matters most! Goals!! There goalie played lights out,and the last penalty killed the pens!! It's not over yet but it's getting dangerously close

  11. This franchise could be entering some extremely rough times here very soon.

They have a poorly constructed roster,a stubborn and delusional coach, a GM who just genuinely seems to be bad at his job, and what appears to be poor, hands off ownership who may not really care that much about what happens on the ice for all we know.

  12. The worst part about this is that we are wasting the last few years of one of the best cores in NHL history. Sid, Geno, Tanger are all still extremely productive, but management and coaching have 100% failed them. This summer will be our last chance to give them one final shot, but I just don't see it happening.

  13. Our power play needs a new strategy. Watching these last four games, I have noticed that they do little passes back and forth at the blue line and every game it’s been tipped out multiple times a game because it’s predictable . Our offense is predictable overall. Watching opponents play defense. They are getting into position before we make the pass and are waiting for it.

  14. This teams problems are always rooted in the Defense I think. A better defense would make the goalies better. A better defense would make the forwards better. Other than Letang the Pens really dont have a decent defense. Fadun played as good as Pedderson as one example. It's a shame that all these skills the forwards have are being wasted. The defense just does not create space. They are not a good D even when all healthy.

  15. This is what happens when a dominant core age. It happens to all franchises lucky enough to compete for titles for multiple seasons.

  16. Absolutely DK When it matters. Injuries don't help at all. I don't know either DK Thank you

  17. The stats don’t paint the whole picture. They had hardly any quality chances. Most of those shots were off the pads or into the chest of ferguson

  18. You need youth in the lineup. I know the big 3 and Zucker are producing but you need hunger and some talent on the 3rd and 4th lines. That's where having some talented younger players that are hungry come into play.
