I’m still a bit confused on if it would work but the area by Oceanside would be pretty cool as well as where the 101 and 202 meet

Craig is a godsend to me as a fan, this man needs to be paid more or to get a handsome vacation when this is all said and done

>Put simply, the only way that the Coyotes could go back to Footprint Center would be if new Suns owner Mat Ishbia were to buy the Coyotes. A spokesperson for the Suns confirmed to PHNX Sports that if the NHL and the Coyotes ever wanted to have discussions with the Suns, they would be available to have those conversations, but again the Coyotes are not for sale.
To me, that is a good sign. That means that if whatever option Meruelo sets up next falls through and he sells the team, the Suns (aka Ishbia) are at least open to the possibility of buying the Coyotes. That is a HUGE sea change from the Sarver days.
Plus, Ishbia is loaded (3x the net worth of Meruelo), and the Coyotes are the least valuable team in the NHL. We’ve seen he’s willing to spend with the Suns. If Meruelo can pull together over 2 billion in private arena financing, the corporate world clearly sees the value in an NHL team in the fastest growing market in the country. And while renovating Footprint would be expensive, it would be a lot less than a brand new arena.

Honestly, the Desert Ridge area would be my pick. It’s a nice area (I used to live there), and there are some decent areas of land.
