Twitter : https://twitter.com/DeanerHd

  1. Plenty of options still Phoenix Suns arena because of new ownership, Tuscon exists, or negotiate with Glendale, negotiate with ASU to expand seats

  2. You forget the Winnipeg Jets relocated to Phoenix and Atlanta Flames -> Calgary Flames and the Atlanta Thrashers -> Winnipeg Jets. The Kansas CIty Scouts -> Colorado Rockies -> New Jersey Devils. Québec Nordiques -> Colorado Avalanches. Even the mighty Montréal Canadiens were close to move to away from Montréal back in 1938. People forgot that the mythic Montréal Forum was build for the Montréal Maroons and not the Montréal Canadiens who were playing at the Aréna Jubilée in eastern Montréal before it burn down.

  3. Coyotes ownership will not stay at a University. What free agents would come to play at a down scale stadium? The people have spoken. Now its time for the team to to speak and say goodbye Arizona.

  4. There's literally never been a sports franchise that has been given so many chances to survive. Enough is enough. Even for Bettman.

  5. Killed by the word "Billionaire". Use this word today and everything becomes toxic, even getting rid of a toxic dump.

  6. Unfortunately, I believe that the fat lady has sung. Houston bound?

  7. Why is the private sector trying to get government to help it thrive? Why can’t this team buy private land, develop it, build an arena free of government obligations and go from there? The speed of resolution of this problem will skyrocket. Arizona’s problems from the get go have been their entanglement with government obligations. Find private land and private financing which is 98.5 % free of government, and life will be great for this future Stanley Cup Championship organization.

  8. The only cities the Coyotes are looking at are Scottsdale Mesa Chandler and the Salt River Indian Community

  9. The reality is that fan attendance numbers are the ultimate determinant for franchise success. I always thought that a cold weather climate was appropriate for a NHL franchise, but Florida and Carolina proved me wrong. They should find a new home anywhere with a strong fan base. SLC seems like a good choice.

  10. I think the City Counsel still moves forward with it anyway in-spite of the vote.

  11. Screw them! The state of Arizona, the city of Phoenix and Maricopa County have had chance after chance after chance to find a way to make this work and they have failed every single time. The NHL has stood by this franchise through multiple owners, through bankruptcies and everything else under the sun for 27 years and what have they got to show for it?

A team that can't win on the ice, that can't keep itself solvent and that can't keep itself in an adequate arena and has now thrown away the last best chance anyone could have given them.

And what's important to remember here is that this is coming to pass because of a vote from the people. No one is doing this to the city, the fans or the players. YOU, citizens of Maricopa County, have spoken and you've done this to yourselves! You had a deep pocketed, committed owner, a management team with a plan, lots of young prospects and a ton of hope for the future with a shiny new entertainment district and… you threw it all away.

No mercy, no sympathy. You've all had far more than enough chances to make this work. You've been shown far, far more patience than you've deserved so to h*ll with you! You don't want your team? Some other city will be more than happy to take it from you.

Enough of this farcical charade already. Move the team!

  12. But what if they won the Cup a couple of times? They don't go far if they get to the playoffs.

  13. I don’t feel bad at all, teams like this are why the rest of the league has to suffer under the salary cap. It’s welfare for millionaires. Let’s only have hockey teams where the people support them. Stop forcing shit.

  14. I think relocation is very likely, and as for where they'd be going my best guess would be either Houston or Kansas, to stay in the west. I doubt Columbus or Detroit would want to go back to the west conference.
