  1. I'm a hab fan first but my take is that Marner is not the one to trade if possible. The guy lead the forwards in both ice time and +/_ this past playoffs and I don't think he was any more out of his element with the rougher play then Matthews or JT did. I think people only see goals, but this guy does most other things far above league average. This is the type of player that makes the players around him better. I suspect if he is moved Matthews 60 goal season will be a thing of the past.

  2. Marner has proven his little value in playoffs. He is good in regular season games. As a Leafs troll I think it would be dishonest for Leafs to trade Marner for a really good player. Why not keep pretending Marner is a star while he retires as a Leaf?

  3. Matthews I think is gone before any Marner thoughts. We'd get more value trading Mathews and free up more caps space and keep the better of the two at the same time for a much needed trim of the highest paid forward group. All the money in the world can't escape the CAP. right?

  4. Terrible deal. As CJ put it, it would be a "butcher" for "skill". Tkachuk has proven he is tough. He has stepped up. No question. But he is a GOON. A goon who gets points and puts his team on his back. But I don't want him on my team. No way. I would take "skill" any day. The skilled players are fun to watch. The "butchers" are killing the game.

  5. I know Dangle has this podcast and that whole schtick – but this post po analysis is total garbage. Steve step back from the mic, take a couple of months off. You're sounding like a fool

  6. The only top players that could be traded from the Leaf roster are those players that have 1 year before they are UFA's. That is Nylander and Matthews . And if people think Matthews will stay if Marner goes, don't count on it.

  7. My understanding was he wanted to play in the US. Not sure your taking the risk of him not signing a deal after trade.

  8. I know Dubas is loyal but under any circumstance you do not turn down a offer like that period. I like Dubai but from a business stand point that's a reason to be fired

  9. Well, in the Fall of 2018 Dubas turned down a trade with Carolina, for either Pesci or Slavin for Nylander. Two #1 D men

  10. I've never heard someone break down Marner like that, kinda makes me want to keep him.

Till I remember that picture of him crying in the scrum in the ploffs

  11. THE SHORT ANSWER TO THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO IS: NO. The longer answer is, Chris said that discussion never happened. So, no.
