Edmonton's loss is a serious Canadian issue. This means that the Stanley cup hasn't been won by a Canadian team in 30 years. The playing field is not level for Canadian teams, It's even worse in Quebec, a province that has traditionally produced a ton of great players.

The problem is the NHL calls games differently in the playoffs, leaving thugs a free path to neutralizing the skill guys. I can’t believe Canadian teams have still not figured out this part yet. You gotta stock up on big mean guys that can bulldoze your way thru those small skill teams.

There were a lot of upsets this year. Colorado lost to WC1 they had 109 points. Edmonton lost to Vegas who had the same amount of points as Toronto 111 and were $9.5M over the cap. Boston literally shit the bed. I don’t know if the Oilers were as big a failure as Toronto’s, Boston, Colorado, New York’s playoff appearance this year
