  1. Reading the video description, Johnny – did you have a small stroke there? Great thoughts in the vid as always, but the description scares me.

  2. It's bittersweet cause I love Conroy and think he'll do great, but GM is such a volitile role these days and it's just a matter of time before the team fires him. Its not if but when

  3. Word on the street:
Iginla is being considered for either AGM OR assistant head coach with the idea that Sutter has about 25 games to start quick or move out.
Which basically says 'Turn the ship, Sutter, or Iginla is the head coach'.
The Flames were one good performance (from Hanifin, Huberdeau, or Kadri) from going 16th points wise and 18th in wins, to 11th in points and 13th in wins.
Of the 4 Canadian teams to miss the playoffs this year, expect them to turn the corner first.

  4. "You can't have a contender without a really good GM" Marc Bergevin, Peter Chiarelli…

  5. Assuming this actually happens and Dreger is right, very happy with it. Was a Conroy fan when he was a player, and that he's been part of the front office for more than a decade, including a long period as assistant GM, shows he has plenty of experience and knowledge going into this.
Bringing Iginla into the front office or as someone on the bench would be amazing.

  6. Pretty hard to build a Stanley cup champion team in Canada with Gerry Bettman as commissioner. There has been a Canadian team that has won the cup since he was voted in 30 years ago. He has made things favourable to the US.

  7. "Just because Iginla has no experience doesn't mean he'd be a bad coach". It is amazing how acceptable nepotism is when you like the person.

  8. I love your content man but Johnny is just an ankle biter in the regular season that can score. In the playoffs he is way to small to be effective. If that pick is Craig's claim to fame, I have my doubts.

  9. Honestly I also like Sutter,it sucks he didn’t produce for the team and it sucks he got let go and it especially sucks some of the players couldn’t handle his style.

Mcdavid and Gadreau coming into last years playoff of Alberta as the faces of their teams, the magic will sadly never be duplicated

But it can get better so I’m hoping next year around this time they’re playing each other in the playoffs again!!!

You Flames fans and my Fellow Oilers fans can agree,we need that again!!!!

  10. Well friggin said. We got rid of him Brad! Come back! Couples do this ALL THE TIME and it ALWAYS WORKD OUT! 🙃

Dude they are mentioning all these fucking Québécois dorks with names and ancient Blackhawk affiliations! Don’t dooooo this!!!!

The Flames have always lived there Americans. As a Californian who was accidentally born prematurely in Calgary….I love to see Noah Hanifin (SIGN ME) Derek Ryan (I can’t believe they let your Craig Conroy ass go to Edmonton DR) Blake Coleman and so many more (I still love you Matthew….KILL EM and get off the ice).

I’m friends with Pat Steinberg. Right Pat? I drive from San Jose to Calgary nonstop on Adderall immediately after Calgary beat the Sharks in the West final. I was on that red mile. I saw the most intoxicated massive gathering of extremely happy people all enjoy tits and chants and missed high fives with strangers AND nothing bad happened!

That was thousands who gathered without blocked off streets. If you had an awesome rack and you felt compelled; you could share your breast’s without drunk creeps molesting you.

It was so damn beautiful 🥲

I love being 98% Californian and 2% Calgarian just because my parents have great taste in National Parks and I was eager to grab dual citizenship.

The Flames ARE my primary conduit to a community I love.

With all that being said there has been a paranoia surrounding American players not wanting to play in a market like Calgary. That’s some horseshit.

Talk about bench smacked upside the beaches and babes for Lake Louise and Chinook Winds….

Craig’s American ass was shipped from Los Angeles to Calgary. He obviously fell in love with the city the same way I have (and most anyone who spends any time there).

So 🇺🇸🇨🇦🔥 Let’s DO THAT HOCKEY the way ya damn well know you can!

    Nice rant Mr Hawk

  11. imagine covering the lames joke dumpster franchise as a fan and laughign every time you are talking in y our video.

  12. Conny as GM and Iginla as an assistant coach — and eventually work his way up to head coach or even to a front office job would be great

  13. This is so freaking awesome to see Craig Conroy being named the Flames GM. Congratulations Craig you deserve it.

  14. What has happen to Calgary are they waking up ? About time need another cup before l leave this world 😎👍

  15. I think next season, 6/7 Canadian teams is going to get pretty freaking wild. There seems to be A LOT more PRESSURE on every Canadian teams to take their club to the next level than since I can remember. Not just make the playoffs, but division titles, conference finals, and of course the cup most importantly.

Should be a very interesting season next year

  16. as an oilers fan, craig was one of those guys that really got on my nerves when we played the flames but honestly this is a great hire on the part of the flames organization so i have to give the flames their props. this is a great decision

  17. It's good to see a team do like the Black Hawks did, hire a bright young guy with (hopefully) fresh ideas instead of throwing on another retread 60 year old guy that's on his fifth G.M. job.

  18. Oilers fan here. I think you guys made the right call. Mitch Love should be your coach too

  19. Conroy and Iggy are a dynamic duo. Flames fans would have to be excited about that.

  20. I think a former NHLer that would make a fantastic coach that nobody is talking about is Patrik Elias. He's was one of the assistant coaches of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 Czech World Junior teams, so he definitely has an interest in coaching. I'm also hoping that somebody finally gives Rikael Gronborg, the head coach of the Swedish World Junior team a shot. I think many remember that he expressed interest in coaching in the NHL awhile back. He was even approached by NJ for the job, but he couldn't come over because he was still under contract in Sweden at the time. Imagine Gronborg as the Flames head coach with Iginla as his assistant. That would be amazing.

  21. For over 10 years, my guy I'm pretty sure Craig Conroy is going on 30 years with the Flames. I remember watching play with Iggy, who I'd love to see step in behind the bench. That would be a Flames fans wet dream, a cup with Iggy and Conroy leading the way

  22. Not the fLames going the old boys club way. Bahaaaaaaa
