@Maple Leafs de Toronto

Ça fait toujours mal d’y penser 😢

Ils me manquent déjà tellement.

I miss winning in the playoffs more

  2. LeafsRealist

The one shining moment in a 5 year steaming turd

Were you watching the team on the ice or the press box? I don’t get this obsessive love for the guys in the suits. We follow sports for the players. They are what matter.

  4. Yeah that sole first round win in several years awesome, we should have given Dubas the keys to the city and a lifetime extension

  5. kstacey

Y’all simping over a GM with one round of playoff success and only had regular season success and got taken to the cleaners on contract negotiations every time.

I remember 2-3 days after the playoffs ended and I was lamenting the loss saying I hoped Dubas would do what needed to be done.

Someone replied that the playoffs were over, « get the fuck over it ».

I did, and I strongly urge all the members of the Cult of Kyle to do the same.

He’s gone guys. For better or worse, he’s gone. Your little message board rants won’t bring him back.

Just be prepared to support the next guy as much as you did this one

The same man that used his personal family matters as a negotiating tactic. Pretty scummy if you ask me.

I did not know Dubas had this many fans until this week lol. Stan culture around GMs is crazy

Don’t worry, Treliving is coming and he can totally keep the top stars from leaving

I feel like they’ve just completely lost the younger generation of fans

dubas and spezza were such a vibe and losing that hurts more than any loss ever has

  11. big_nose_juicer

Those extra 7 games a season ending in failure sure were fun

  12. TuloCantHitski

Was there anything in Spezza’s actual job description other than « sit in the press box and get hyped af »?

  13. DummyThlck

I’m a huge Dubas fan but 1 series win during his whole tenure is not good enough man. Only up from here (hopefully)

  14. AcceptableSide8

I would understand the sadness or whatever if this guy helped the team win a championship but all he had was ONE measly playoff round in 5 tries. Maybe this move will finally shake the “core” & realize that the coddling era is gone. Whether some will admit it or not but Dubas coddled the core 4.

I still have those gifs saved in my phone. It seems like a dream. Did it really happen?

  16. Mr_Barkers

Man you Dubas fan boys are something else. You’re treating this man like a god when he’s assembled a team with exactly 1 playoff series win during his tenure.

Get a grip. Someone else will take his job and they’ll keep losing again in no time, don’t you worry.

  17. Lewsther1n

That hits right in the feels 😭

2 things can be true: Dubas being gone isn’t a big deal as well as we are not guaranteed more success with anyone else. Lot of issues with this roster. Dubas was good in some ways, bad in others. This we lost a gem narrative is just as bad as he was god awful. It’s in the middle and one round reflects that. Personally it’s below average to me but to each their own

  19. SweetWithHeat

    You miss winning one round?

  20. stellosartois

If you are going to fall in love with certain players, coaches, GMs, front offices etc… then I have some bad news for you.

  21. PersimmonMindless

It’s going to be difficult to root for this team next year.

  22. northdancer

I’ll just never understand the obsession that terminally online Leaf fans have with a GM that can’t put a team together to win fuck all in the playoffs.

  23. PersimmonMindless

The thing that every one keeps commenting on is strictly hockey. Dubas was also a really good man in a sport where I’ve seen too many fall well below that yard stick. He was for diversity and inclusion. He was for LGBTQ rights. There was no worry that they’d sign a player like Kane. There was a trust that the Leafs would do the right thing in all regards.

He is widely regarded as one of the best minds in hockey. And Shanny fired him because he was butt hurt.
