  1. The NHL has tried to make this work in Arizona for over a quarter of a century and I'd be surprised if the team turned a profit or broke even once in that time. I know the league loves their big markets, but if that market isn't going to buy your product, what difference does it make? Having a hockey team in Arizona where there's zero hockey tradition like setting up a Polish restaurant with borscht and sausages in the middle of Beijing. I'm pretty sure that's not what people there would be into. It's a huge market, but so what? The NHL since the late 90s has gone on a "if you build it, they will come" kick and the only reasons it hasn't been a complete failure is because of Gretzky, Tampa and Carolina winning a few championships and grassroots efforts in Vegas being superlative. Oh yeah, and Seattle's proximity to Vancouver made it a good landing sport potentially for an NHL team. For me though, the NHL is too bloated. They need to reduce the number of teams, not increase them.

  2. Cicereelli however you spell his name is a terrible GM was and will be

  3. Time to move the Coyotes to Mexico City! Makes as much sense as Arizona and it would actually grow the game in a place where there is a growing interest in the game.

  4. These asshole owners. They all got a billion dollars to buy the team but no way in hell can they pony up for their own rink.

  5. something tells me that blake's usage of the description "lilly-white", as an indication of wholesome acceptability, is probably not appropriate in this overly-fastidious politically-correct world that we now exist in … much like matt's love of the old school idiom … "more than one way to skin a cat"… lol …

  6. If Bettman is thinking about Atlanta again that’s another stupid move on his part!

  7. Why not move them to Toronto ? Big market and Keep Coyotes in the Western Conference ,so Leaf fans can’t be upset.

  8. isnt quenville basically radioactive at this point? the league kicked him out for a reason, he was the only one kicked out right? i have a hard time the league would consider this.
