  1. The Staios move would be to keep him as he is supposedly sought after by other teams. Goalie coach is long over do. Time will tell

  2. Firing the goalie coach should happen. It’s the one spot that I see we need a good amount of help in to get out GAA down. Would like to see Gretzky get the GM job and Staos taking over his role. Definitely keep Holland, he made some nice moves this year.

  3. I like these speculation moves. I'd also add in, bring back Ryan Smyth to the organization. He needs to be around, involved, and seen/heard by the fans as much as possible.

  4. Edmonton has been a goalie graveyard for a very long time. I've been an advocate of removing Justin for over 10 years. Mike Smith would be a great addition. Been a winner at every level

  5. whenever holland speaks in public he comes across as bumbling rambling & incoherant . Public speaking is not his thing.I think management has now limited his public speaking engagements compared to before.

  6. given limited cap space holland did pretty well and if you look at the past 20 years the last two years were a huge step up. a goalie and a couple d men from and a concept of team d to be a constant contender. i wonder why this francise has such a hard time executing a consistent defensive strategy. the only shot they got right now is out score other teams which is fun but they need to keep piling them in to win, sitting on leads isn't a team with poor tending and forecheck breaking ability. thanks for the insight but ditching holland is suicide in my eyes

  7. You know what Patrick? I totally think these are all good moves. Dustin Schwartz hasn't done much in helping Skinner or Campbell get better over the regular season or playoffs! Both goalies are weak on the glove hand and neither could scrape together a sv% higher than .900 in playoffs or Reg season. (yes Campbell had a .947sv % when relieving Skinner in 3 games, yet obviously he did not have Woodcroft's confidence in starting a few of these games when we really needed a goalie to steal a game or 2 in the playoffs). 1 Shutout in 82 games? That's pathetic imo.
Also I think they should think of either giving Dave Manson a good talking to, or drop him like a bad habit. Everyone in the league knows that Edmonton's Defense is weak and I don't really think its the players but more what they are doing on the ice. Whenever the defense go "Try hard" they all try to go for the puck carrier and they leave the opposition standing in front of the net for 5+ seconds all by themselves. Watch Sportsnet's and TSN vid's about what Edmonton did wrong in game 6…. They both identify the same thing.
Draisaitl leaves the man he is covering right in front of the net by himself. Next goal it was Ceci who left his man all alone in font of the net when all they had to do is stand in front of the net and check the Vegas player if a rebound becomes available.
Sadly, if you watch most of the games in which they lost it was due to very similar personal errors. Didn't Manson and Woodcroft both notice this reoccurring reason for giving up goals??? yet it happens time and time again.
I think aside from Yamamoto, Bjugstad and maybe Janmark, Edmonton has quite a good deep team. Just a few are under performing. Kane didn't do near as well as last playoffs but I'm thinking it has to do with his wrist still recovering and he is still our pest player that gets under the oppositions skin so I don't think he should be going anywhere.

  8. Please dont fuck around with the Oilers, they just need a few better defence and a goalie. And get rid of of a few players. Ken Holland is a jerk and should be let go!

  9. With the way the Oilers have trended ever since you guys landed Evander Kane, I would say making any leadership changes would be a bad idea. Ken Holland has finally managed to build a good team around McDrai. But sure, firing the goalie coach might not be a bad idea…

  10. I always said that Mike Smith would be great goalie coach ! Because he has the passion for the team !💯👍🏾🇨🇦
