Couple of snippets from the article:

One of his early coaches (Metsa had been cut from his local A team at age 11): « I’ve never seen or experienced a player that’s been pushed out and rose back up and pushed down and rose back up so many times,”

« Metsa was the property of six different USHL teams from the time he was 16 until he went off to college. He was drafted by four different USHL teams but his first attempts to make a team out of camp were unsuccessful. »

“I think at every level, even the NHL, guys want to fight the coaching a little bit at times,” Pecknold said. “Everybody thinks they know what they’re doing. Mets was the opposite. He was like, ‘What do you need me to do so I can be successful and play and help this team win? He’s so selfless, which is a strength.”

Really cool article, I’ve never even heard of this guy before. Let’s hope he becomes an actually good Bryson.
