Just my wild guess. I do think it’s funny that people are laser-focusing on Fantilli. I like him and he’s probably the pick, but it’s definitely a close call

Pretty low, reading too much into a small sample size tournament is how you end up with a Montreal situation drafting Slafkovsky over Cooley.
Carlsson is playing top line minutes and has a lot more experience playing on international ice, Fantilli has been getting mostly 4th line minutes playing with guys who just cannot keep up with his pace and he’s also got AFAIK zero prior experience playing on international ice.
I’d be happy with either guy but I would hope our scouts wouldn’t make a rash decision based on this tournament, Ovechkin had 2 points in 6 games in his draft year playing in the World Championships and he turned out just fine.
Probably higher than this sub wants to imagine.
