They all kinda suck from both sides. Rangers can’t afford any of them and Toronto will want a bigger return than we’re offering here. Plus youve got NMCs on both sides squashing most of them.

NMC roadblocks aside, I don’t think these teams need to be swapping stars to get them over the edge. If these playoffs revealed anything, it’s that star talent goes nowhere without a strong supporting cast.

Overpay for Tavares, factoring in Nylander and Matthews being one year away from UFA its also a slight overpay for those two and the Marner trade is just turning our highest priced regular season performer from LW to RW for them to basically no show in the playoffs. Marner puts up points in the playoffs but a vast majority of them are meaningless

Assuming the cap will work out I would give up Chytil and a 1st for Nylander in a heart beat but based on me saying that then there is no way Toronto gives up Nylander for only that much.
