  1. Unfortunately, I don't see any other outcome from this besides moving to another city (probably Houston). I'm a Devils fan, so I certainly can identify with the constant negativity getting thrown at your team, and the Yotes have certainly had their fair share. Still, it sucks to see a team that has grown a fanbase for nearly 30 years hit a wall like this.

  2. Move out of the desert. This vote is a warning to anyone who continues to reside in Arizona

  3. I feel for the fan base, but it’s over. Prepare for the team to load uhauls and slip away in the middle of the night.

  4. Nucks fan now but was born in Winnipeg and loved the Jets 1.0 and continued to follow them.
This really sucks and as someone who has experienced it once hope is gone it moves fast.

ASU was only ever an option because a new arena was being built. With that dead now I think the organization will get were moving on treatment and things will be swift and all about the new homes best interests.

Nobody not the league or the NHLPA will wanna play at ASU knowing they are leaving town, the aura and niche experience will now be looked at as bush league.

I think the league has contingencies and my gut tells me SLC Utah gets the team, the only issue is a practice facility but I'm sure there's something there that can be renovated. Maybe they are forced by logistics to play another year at Mullet or maybe half the season? Maybe they split home games which would be a good way to get it done on the fly.
Either way really shitty news for a franchise full of shirts news.

  5. Can’t imagine the thought of my hockey team possibly relocating. Really hoping things work out for you yotes fans.

  6. Jets fan here, I know the feeling. I think eventually it'll work but I guess now isn't the time. Sorry 😢

  7. It hurts how unfair this was, half the voters were over the age of 65 I read. If the younger portion of Tempe voted this would be a different turnout. OR maybe that's just my copium kicking in

  8. It’s sad to see and hear about, but at this point; it really is for the best. I mean, a 5,000 seat arena that barely even gets filled is pretty horrific. But you know who really gets fucked over? The fans. The fans didn’t ask to have this level of drama and for this long. You wonder why nobody attends Coyote games? It’s not just because the team is bad, it’s because the drama and ownership has been absolutely atrocious for a very long time. The state of Arizona deserves much better than this honestly.

  9. Salt Lake City seems like the best bet. As long as the Jazz agree to it, Vivint Arena in downtown seats 14k for hockey. While 14k may not be ideal, it's in a city that cherishes winter sports such as hockey instead of a place that is summer year-round like Houston.

  10. As a Canadian, I was really hoping this was gonna go forward. The coyote fans deserve this….would’ve been such a great site. I don’t know if there’s really any more options now?

  11. How do you not relocate? i know it sucks for the fans but for the players its embarrassing to play at a facility worse than junior squads.

thats on top of the other team owners having to keep the team afloat because there isnt a strong enough fan base, even with the majority being canadian snow birds.

It’s sad when the league thinks they can just stick a team wherever the NBA is and think it’ll survive. Hockey is niche and needs to stay more north

  12. Nah nah nah nahhhh eh eh ehhhhh goodbye👋 players have to be stoked to play in front of real hockey fans. The writings been on the wall for 10 years.

  13. I love the coyotes. As a Canadian I was so pumped to come to Tempe and spend some money.

  14. While I feel for the fans it's ownership has been incompetent and not really trying, got kicked out of their arena because of non payments, and just loses money hand over fist. It's very sad but I think it's inevitable of them moving to Houston.

  15. Good that a town FINALLY said "no" to these deals.

It's bad for the towns. It's bad for the taxpayers. It's only good for put-of-taxpayer-area fans & the team owners.
