  1. So he goes to Ottawa, and turns them in to a gutless, undersized, 1st round only team? Sign him Ottawa! Now!

  2. I dunno, I thought Dubas' statement was about as professional as it could get. The more I'm hearing about the Leafs, the more I'm starting to think Dubas might have been less the problem and more the glue holding the flood back…

    Let the popcorn munching continue.

  3. As a Pens fan, I want Dubas in Pittsburgh so bad. He's young, he's a great GM, and he could be just what they need. Even if it means the revival takes an extra year, it'd be worth it. I think if anyone can get this team back for the Big Three, it's him. That being said, it would still be hilarious if he went to Ottawa out of pure spite.

  4. It would be hilarious to see Dubas as gm of the Sens and beat the Leafs in the first round.

  5. Dubas is good at what he does, he's not out because he's bad.. any team that gets him should be happy. That being said, he doesn't seem to have an understanding of player character. He sees talent and numbers and that's good and all but if you don't see character and apply that knowledge to build your team, you will lack something. Toronto has some retooling to do and it's not a scorched earth thing.. it's just some adjustments and figuring out who should stay and who should go. Sorry Keefe but you gotsta go.

  6. Dubas is a failed manager I’m not sure why no manager is history has ever gotten this much media coverage especially for a GM that got a team to the second round once then bounced out quickly

  7. Dubas is great at signing big names to big contracts,,,,Hope he goes to Pitts,,,they will not win an other Cup while he's there, I'd bet on it… He brings a BAD AURA with him,,,,The Spoiled Brat AURA !!!!

  8. The biggest FU would be taking Mathews for nothing from Toronto and bringing him to play with Crosby.

  9. Dont believe the hype. The Leafs are NOT Ontario's team. Sault Ste. Marie is big Red Wing country. Thunder Bay has the Jets and the Wild far closer than Toronto. Their is huge support for Montreal in the francophone north, and the east have their own team in Ottawa.

  10. Just enjoying yet another Leafs dumpster fire.

  11. Dubas seems like a nice guy but he has done nothing except waste a lot of talent and money.

  12. Scratching my head here but why would anyone want dubas. He walked into a playoff team and accomplished nothing. Also shanny has to go like yesterday.

  13. It'd be hilarious if he ends up as GM for the Islanders and Lamoriello remains as President.

  14. Good Riddance Dumbass thanks for leaving a fricken mess!! Signing big stupid contracts, trading our picks for rentals! Hunter would of done a better job!!

  15. The longer Shanahan remains employed the more I slowly drift over to the Dubas camp. If the same person blocks a trade for Fleury and Hagel but allows his GM to sign Mrazek and trade for Murray, we're talking about one unstable individual.

  16. Dubas isn’t great but whoever takes the PIT job is a placeholder for the GM who comes in when they finish bottom of the NHL in 4 years
Hextall doomed his replacement. Damning testament to why he should not have another job in the NHL.

  17. The fact that Dubas was going to trade knies for an over the hill goalie helps me sleep soundly he’s gone.

  18. Possible conversation under new Ottawa ownership.
    Dubas: It's Dubas
    Snoop Dog: No, it's Doobies

  19. I thought the Sens were doomed when they hired Dorian, but the guy has done a pretty decent job putting that team together. I know it dosen't mean much, but this is coming from a Habs fan lol.

  20. I think that a competitive team in Canadas Capital is just what the NHL needs !!
OTTAWA is a beautiful place in its own right and Hockey there should be special like it was in QUEBEC CITY

  21. I have been a senators fan for 20 years, and im not going to lie, I don't want Ottawa to make any changes until there is a new owner in place. I use to be very critical of Dorrion. But even after a couple blunders, I like where he has brough Ottawa. He has apparently built an extremely positive and fun dressing room, which I believe is massive, and i think a couple more years to wait and see what this all shakes up into. If we still arent a playoff team next year, or at the very least the year after, then we can part ways. But its too early with the kind of team he has built. Stutzle just had his breakout season last year. and we had one of our main guys gone all season.

  22. Dorion probably won't be going anywhere for the first year. That doesn't mean the new owner can't have his replacement in waiting in the organization. I can see Dubas going to Ottawa (and taking Spezza with him) as an Assistant General Manager to join a brain trust with Dorion, Trent Mann & Ryan Bowness.

That said, I don't think Dubas is a great GM. He was gifted the likes of Matthews, Nylander & Marner and promptly overpaid them and then treated UFA signings like a dart board with more misses than hits. If the team didn't stumble into Samsonov last year, I honestly think Toronto would have missed the playoffs this year.

  23. If Ryan Reynolds buys Ottawa I bet he goes. They look like they could be half siblings lol.

  24. They should just hire me, I added a new team to the NHL and we went 82-0-0 our inaugural season. If I can do it with the Portland Paladins I'm sure I could manage with Toronto.

  25. Really wish we knew the level of interference Shanahan did with Dubas's management because this could of been a good or a bad thing. The Leafs were pretty soft prior to the deadline and I don't think they make it past Tampa Bay without adding some McCabe, Schenn, Acciari, etc. If this was Dubas, great. But if Shanahan had to step in to make this happen and then Dubas cried about how tough being a GM was?

  26. dubas to ottawa would be far more interesting as they do have some good players on affordable contracts

  27. Why are the terms "younger and progressive" always used in a positive manner, aren't younger progressives in the political realm the ones who are putting children on puberty blockers and chopping boys' wieners off? Kyle Dubas attended a lot of Toronto pride parades and is into the whole transgender stuff, Dubas is young and progressive and if you have a five year old son who likes to play with Barbie dolls, watch out, because Kyle would love to cut his wiener off.

  28. There was a lot of hyperbole here. Don’t forget Ottawa is broke. Maybe Snoop and Dubas have been planning this for years. 😂

  29. ** ..(The leafs second biggest rival at this time is Boston/Tampa. Ottawa has and always will be, irrelevant)

  30. I think I speak for most leaf fans here… if dubas went to Ottawa we’d all be laughing not angry lol all the guy did was resign the core(arguably over paying for them all) while also only giving matthews a bridge deal that’s coming back to haunt us. He traded for a few vets this year.. that’s all he’s so overrated.
