In Pic one I have Derek Sanderson heading to the penalty box. So many options on who I could have put there, but I loved Sanderson and he wasn’t on it anywhere so I put him there. Back in the day when the Bruins would fight, Derek Sanderson always seemed to be the first one there to back up whoever was fighting.
Bobby Orr is my favorite all time player. I made a little tribute to him. There is a young Bobby wearing #27. There is Bobby playing in the Canada Cup in 76. He was MVP and could barely walk at this point. Then there is Bobby in his Blackhawks jersey saying goodbye. That was a tough one. I hate A. Eagleson (sp)
During Orr’s retirement ceremony, I know that Jack and Brick were not part of it, but they are my favorite announcers so I had to put them in there. The original guy (mc) was getting so frustrated because the fans would not stop cheering and he had a schedule to keep. Orr just kept smiling and waving. This last year was the first year I got all the games with Jack and Brick. To me there is no contest as to who I want to listen to when watching the Bruins!!! « The Leafs are mulch again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! » « Aw he’s giving him the nuggies!!!!!!! »
In pic 2 Ray Bourque is giving up his # 7 for Phil Esposito’s ceremony. I never get tired of watching this. When I was young, I did not like Bourque because he was wearing Espo’s #. I thought players picked there own number. I didn’t know he was given that. I just loved everything about this. Just awesome. I was pulling for Bourque to get his stanley cup but not with the avalanche. I HATE the Avalanche.
In pic 3 it is Tim Thomas who I believe had the greatest season ever as a netminder. What I love about this figure is that I made it from a Roberto Luongo Mcfarlane figure. I don’t know how many times I have watched Thomas highlights on youtube from that season. When Luongo started running off at the mouth, Thomas just handled it perfectly. He was perfect!
In pic 4 I have Sweeney tending to Normand Leveille at the Last Skate in the Boston Garden. I have watched this many times on youtube and knew I wanted to include something from here. I didn’t follow Leveille’s career much (high school) but I do know he was going to be something special and then a brain anyerism.(Sp) Watching Bourque and Sweeney helping him onto the ice so he could have a last skate with all those other former players was really something. sad.
I also have Adam Oates there with Neely. I remember the Oates/Klima/Barr line with the Red Wings and they were great. I’m from MI so I got to watch the wings (another reason I hate the Avs) He was always a favorite, so when he landed in Boston playing with Neely I was so happy. Then Samuellson (sp) a hole. That was devastating. The reason Neely is in the hat and vest. I got him heading for the zamboni doors so he is not late for his Sea Bass role. I did not know he was going to be in the movie when I saw it. I just could not believe it. A hero as this idiot Sea Bass. But because he’s the President, I put him in a Boston Bruins hat and not his « wine em, dine em, 69 em » hat.
Neely is also on here because I needed a good Running into the goalie play. I was going to use Lucic on Ryan Miller but Lucic always said it wasn’t on purpose. neely laying out Hextall for the flyers wasn’t an accident. Even though Neely is in the black uniform I wish I would have put Hextall in the orange flyers jersey
The Terry O’Reilly figure is a Mcfarlane figure I did not touch. But I have him heading into the stands to back up McNabb and Milbury. I loved Terry. I want to get another figure and get him on the ice.
The last pic is Eddie Shore. I only know the stories, but he sounds like a Bruin. Playing every minute in some games. Getting himself to Montreal in a Blizzard and playing the whole game. He justs sounds tough
