Aujourd’hui, nous souhaitons un joyeux 36e anniversaire au premier joueur de l’histoire de la LNH à porter le numéro 84! Il s’appelle Guillaume Latendresse !

First ever NHL #84 was a Hab! Crazy! 1917-2007 90 years unused. 👀

Still remember how excited I was when he made the team out of camp lol my first taste of disappointment

HBD Guillaume. I remember thinking he was going to be our new, shiny Shayne Corson. Oh well.
He’s healthy and happy and I’m happy for him.

I liked him as a player! We didn’t use him accordingly with his skill set which lead to some disappointment in him. He showed he had goal scoring capabilities with the wild.

This guy was a beast and a highlight of some of the lean years for young prospects coming up. Unfortunately, and I might be remembering this wrong, but after coming out like a cannon shot, he injured someone on one of his huge crushing hits, and seemed to lay off after that. Understandably so, you never want to be the reason someone has head trauma. But it felt like he was a bit more timid after that and wasn’t the same impact player he looked like he would be.
Super silky hands for a big guy though. His toe drags were amazing to watch!

I liked him when he played here.

Wow, he’s only 36? It seems like ages ago when he played for us…I’m old.

That’s the face of a man that shouldn’t have trusted that fart.

That’s an amazing stat
Was #84 the last number to remain unused?

Or, as Bob Cole called him the first time he was doing a Habs game with him in the lineup – Gilly home Latin dress
