Interesting, where were his teammates to show concern, or even help the trainer onto the ice?
Crazy that the split second he put his head down to corral the puck, left himself vulnerable. Goes to show just how fast NHL is and the sacrifices players make to clear their end. Was a banger of a hit by Bennett and yeah Slavin should've listened to his goalie, but he was totally out of sorts.

Good, hard hit, but even though the point of contact was the chest if you get hit with that much force your brain is going to rattle around inside your skull. A helmet only does so much to stop your skull from getting split open on impact – it won’t prevent brain injuries from getting rocked like that. Hope Slavin’s ok.

Bennett is a predator. Every series he’s head hunting guys. He’s actually trying to hurt players and in doing so end their hockey careers. Bennett needs to be rocked with a head jarring hit, it’s long over do.

skating a great distance for the purpose of delivering a check with excessive force. The onus is on the player delivering the check to avoid placing a vulnerable or defenseless opponent in danger of potential injury.
