That didn't age well.

Allen will be protected with Price waiving his NMC and Nolan Patrick was traded to Nashville and then to Vegas.

  2. I’d rather see alex Killorn go instead on palat in deal 1. Hard to replace palat on first line, unless they put Stamkos on LW.

  3. Well it doesn't look like Allen is going to be available to the Kraken.

By the way, your first trade proposal was WAY TOO HIGH of a price! That was ridiculously high.

Secondly, I don't think Seattle will take Price because of his NMC getting reapplied after the expansion and also because of his signing bonus of 11M. Doesn't look like Allen is leaving Montreal.

Lastly, your predictions list was pretty good, but there were some holes in a couple of your selections.

    Cheers

  4. Considering Toronto's protected list and their recent trade with Pittsburgh, I think it's very probably there is a side deal with the Leafs. I never expected the Mccann deal to even happen, that leaves a lot of players exposed now and Holl was mysteriously protected as well. Something is kind of fishy here. I do think they take Kerfoot, but I expect something to happen with Hyman rights and maybe Dermott now. Toronto does need a second goalie, and Seattle will have plenty of them.

  5. You actually think Benning is going to give you a 1st round pick to take the last year salaries of of Loui and Holtby. Very cute. Where do you come up with this crap!

  6. If the Canucks trade Eriksson it will be for the 2023 First also Why Would Vancouver trade Holtby at 50% retained when theres been a ton of interest in Holtby and 8 teams called
Some of your logic is pretty weird

  7. Canucks won't do this side deal – absolutely no way – . Most likely they will buy out Eriksson. In addiiton there are other NHL teams interested in Holtby. No pressure for Jim Benning to do this side deal.

  8. So,you wouldi think that Louie Erickson would have enough pride to quit when it is obvious he can’t contribute SFA to a non playoff team. Nope,

  9. Spot on with a dim jim move. Ur only missing the sweetner 3rd rounder he’d throw in

  10. these side deals are ludacris lol.. nobody gonna give up a 1st rounder that easy sir… this didn't age well either lol

  11. The Lightning would have to be complete idiots to make that deal. They aren't that far over the cap to give away a starter on their top line, an expected 3rd liner and a #1 pick. For nothing.
I was surprised they didn't protect Gourde and Palat and trade McDonagh before the freeze. They must feel they can replace Palat, who is the best of the available forwards. If that's the case, I don't see them making a big offer to keep him and he makes about the same as Johnson.

  12. That first one is AWFUL. Tampa just bends over to get rid of one contract.

You could draft Gourde and trade him for more.

You can’t trade something for nothing – NY Islanders and Arizona for Ladd!

  13. Sorry. This is the silly season. I am a NJ Devils fan and every offseason there seems to be a limitless number of writers who, like kids on take your kids to work day, dress up like dad, bring their Ninja Turtles lunchbox with them and get to sit in dad's chair. GM for a day!

Inevitably, to get readers, the writer has to create all these incredibly one-sided deals. Like the kid in Christmas Story, the heroic fantasies involve powering over desperate GMs and emerging victorious. Always.

The reality is that GMs are in multiple negotiations with various teams, making up for past sins like signing Parise until age 40 at $11 mil a season (who Seattle can consider after the draft). Will they pay the price you fantasize? I guarantee, they will be looking to bring the opening offer more in line with reality. You'll more likely see offers of eating some salary and 2nd or 3rd round draft picks. Yes, other teams have desperate GMs, but the Kraken have smart people who want to deal, not get hung up on. Recognize this as just a big tease with everything breaking your way.

Now I'll go back to my Devil's writers and all their too-good-to-be-real deals. Best of luck Seattle. Welcome aboard.

  14. I would definitely pick Cal Foote from Tampa. But this side deal doesn't look that bad to be honest. I still don't think it will happen because it's too much cap for those two players. The first round pick is tempting tho. I could see Kraken going for Johnson in a side deal since he's from the area and i think that plays a big part in this. But Palat too? No. I'd go with Cal Foote who will become a stud in the future. And since Kraken will take Jake Bean from the Canes, i can already see a potential first D pairing there in 2 seasons.

The Canucks deal could happen since Loui only has one year left, and they get their first rounder too which most likely will be a high one. That side deal looks pretty appealing.

The Philly side deal could also work out. Shayne could come back to life under Hextall while they also move up in the entry draft. That's not a bad deal at all. But i have a hard time seeing philly throwing in Patrick as well.

The last side deal with Jets just won't happen. They'll end up taking Appleton.

    Interesting video!
