  1. I disagree with the forward lineup. I believe this team is going to look completely different next year. We need players that are gritty. We don't have much grit. I belive that okposo last year is this one. I think they try to use some of there cap room and pick up a few foligno type of players, even if that means getting rid of some of our talent. we have talent we just ne some more grit. I also believe that girginsons last year is this year also. Defense looks great. Goalies UPL for sure and a UFA. I have been watching these games and we have some very good talent that can score.. We just need players with grit and tenacity. Great show brother!!

  2. Unfortunately I believe #71 & #74 stay with us. I also believe #78 stays . I do believe we need to replaced them with size & consistency. I do like #78 speed and skating abilities. But I really enjoy watching Fitzgerald & Samuelsson. I believe both are ready to be full time Sabres. I'm not sold on Hagg yet. I thought he was going to bring a lot more toughness to the line up. I hope we don't lose #29 I like his speed & finish. #29 is non stop movement on the ice. The guy is a machine.

  3. I would have Hayden in the lineup. I really like his energy. Everything else looks good. Email Granato the lineup.

  4. I agree for most of this roam…we cant just keep gutting the team they need timento BECOME a team…definitely meed to tradebto add more size and strength 1 or 2 guys I'd say

  5. I did a similar exercise a few days ago. I have excluded all our pending UFA’s:

    Forwards (L-C-R):
    Skinner – Mittelstadt – Quinn
    Olofsson – Thompson – Tuch
    Paterka – Krebs – Cozens
    Girgensons – ?????? – Okposo
    Spares: Hayden, Murray

    Defence (L-R):
    Dahlin – Jokiharju
    Power – ??????
    Samuelsson – ??????
    Spare: ??????

    Goalies:
    Luukkonen – ??????

    Additions to Rochester:

Forwards: none. Rosén can only be on the Sabres or in Europe. Nadeau can only be on the Sabres or Shawinigan
    Defence: Johnson
    Goalies: Levi? Portillo?

We have five holes to fill as a minimum. I am not sure about Bryson and Fitzgerald on defence, whether they would be good enough. Up front we have three lines that look like 2nd lines. I like all the players on the top three lines bar Olofsson, but they all seem to be of similar talent levels. Lets hope some of team develop into top liners. The team is lacking a little toughness and penalty killing expertise. I also think that we do not have a group that you could confidently put out on the ice for a defensive zone face off in the last minute when leading by one.

  6. Don’t like the Kids line. As Much as we are hanging our hats on these youngsters I Still Believe they all need more time in the minors to get Bigger and stronger. This is where FA will come into play. If That line is playing for us next yr,expect them to be run through the boards. They are not mature physically yet. Just my opinion Brother. Great video Wayne !! 👍🏻

  7. Personally, I would have Tuch and Quinn switch. Tage would benefit from Quinn as he has some playmaking ability and Tuch would benefit more from Mitts. I'll also move JJ back to the A for most of one more year and your buddy VO can replace him. D isn't much different than I would imagine. Goal is exactly what I had in mind. Heck, I had Houser there at the start of the year.
What will be really interesting is whether or not KA makes any splash vet acquisitions this off season or lets the stew simmer. I wonder who we would lose in a Kane trade at this point? Mitts/Asplund/VO/Bryson/1 or 2? Some kind of combo?

  8. I feel similar Wayne for the players who are here. But factoring in trades and free agency, we need a top 6 forward with scoring and grit. Plus a tough veteran Dman and a 1B goalie to share the crease with UPL. I would also move Cozens to wing and move Krebs up to the third line.

  9. I can't rely on Mitts being a dependable 2C until he can play a game w/o breaking something. 👍😎

  10. Hagg is tough but he's a defensive liability. We need veteran leadership. The sabres really need to sign a roster player that's been to the cup or at least deep in the playoffs consistently in his career. I doubt they can lure a superstar but there has to be a solid player that can contribute to this skeleton d-core

  11. I can't quarrel with too much there. I see enough in Asplund still that I want to keep him and Pysyk. Olofsson, I agree. If he isn't scoring, he's not contributing.

  12. IMHO for the 2022 Roster

    Skinner-Mitts-Tuch
    Asplund-Thompson-Oloffson
    Peterka-Cozens-Quinn
    Zemgus-Krebs-Okposo

    Dahlin-Joki
    Power-UFA(Mason)
    Samuelson-Pysyk

    UPL
    Tokarski

  13. I love all the work you put into your videos. Thank you! The positive energy is building as more true fans are catching on. The future is bright and Im with you!

  14. That's not bad. I got
    Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
    Krebs-Mittlestadt-Quinn
    Peterka-Cozens-Olafsson
    Asplund-Girgensons-Okposo
    (Murray-Ruotsoleinin-Bjork)

    Dahlin-Joker
    Power-(UFA signing)
    Samuelsson-Bryson
    (Fitz-R Johnson)

    UPL/(free agent)

I think that it's a strong possibility that Olafsson, Bryson and Asplund are replaced somehow.

  15. im hoping the sabres speed up the process to make the playoffs and fill ip the building by bringing in a couple of UFAs with veteran leadership qualities. here is my team..
    Skinner Thompson Tuch
    Domi or Palat Middelstad Quinn
    Crouse Cozens Peterka
    Girgenson Krebs Okposso
    Hayden Murray as spares
    Defence …..
    Manson Dahlin
    Power Hagg
    Sammuelsson Jokiharju
    Bryson
    goalies….UPL Holtby or Tokarski
Crouse is acquired in a trade later this season.

  16. That looks really good Wayne, I agree with all of it, and yeah who knows what free agents we will pick up and will make this roster even better, just with what we got the future is already lookin bright! We still have great prospects too in our pipeline… Rosen, Levi, Portillo, the Russian kids, etc.

I also agree with the people we have to cut ties with including Oloffson, I really liked him but it just doesn't seem like it's going to pan out would love to get a 2nd rounder and/or a decent depth player for him. I also don't mind Girgensons and Okposo as our vets but they need to go and let others step up and become apart of our future! I like Houser too he seems sharp and the goals he does let in are deflections or one's he really has no chance on. Lastly, HIT, the boys have speed and talent just need to HIT and have GRIT… Tuch, Murray, Hayden, Hagg can all teach the kids how to do it even Cozens has it in him to be physical. 💪
PS: Can you be our GM please??? 🙏😉

  17. I'm super interested in the specific reasoning for the cuts. Particularly Asplund. And Pysyk.

  18. Bringing in a rhd to play with power could be smart. Bring in someone who is solid defensively because we have plenty of offense between power, dahlin and even jokiharju

  19. This lineup doesn’t look to bad, idk if it’s playoff caliber yet but obviously a lot of them are young and have a lot of learning to do. Very exciting to see tho

  20. Wayne , with all do respect I totally disagree with you . Murray has no place on this team , slow , soft ( yes he dropped the gloves couple times . Not very good at it ) krebs is on the third line at very least ,oloffson is on third .Grgerson ,okposo aspland fourth line . Upl? Injured every year . Need a veteran with success on the team , and not a 40:year old .

  21. One thing that is missing from our prospect pool is grit. Our current team seems to fold when things get tough. They get pushed around a lot. We need a couple Nic Richie type players.

  22. Skinner-Tage-Tuch
    Krebs-Cozens-Quinn
    Peterka-Mitts-vinnie
    Girgs-Asplund-Okposo (shutdown line)

    Dahlin-Joki
    Power-Samuelsson
    Bryson-Hagg

    UPL
    (Free agent goalie)

    Those would be my lines.

  23. I'd take anyone over Murray and Fitzgerald and id move Cozens up one, Casey has to prove he can play longer than 2-3 weeks

  24. Roam I just realized that I turned of notifications last month due to game results.

Sometimes I can’t watch the game in real time, and your headlines on videos have given away results in the past.

Can you make sure your game review titles don’t give it away???

  25. I think Asplund will be here. He could carve out a defensive role for himself. He's a smarter hockey player then Cody (3rd period slasher) Eakin and has a higher offensive upside. I may be in the minority, but I liked Cozens with Tuch and Skinner. Maybe Tage with Quinn. Fun stuff!

  26. Skinner Thompson Tuch

    Peterka Mittelstadt Quinn

    Greenway Cozens Nichushkin

    Girgensons Krebs Okposo

    Power Dahlin

    Hagg Jokiharju

    Samelsson Ristolainen

    UPL

    Houser

    Scratches

    Asplund, Bjork, johnson

  27. It's not too soon for Devon Levi for me Next Year. If he's not ready, send him down again. It looks like this guy Is The Dominator 2

  28. Hard disagree on ditching Bryson and Pysyk. Bryson has been good and Pysyk can play both sides and has been a good bridge guy. Also no way on leaving Subban. He took his shot to have a role in the NHL and after the first game found his mojo.

If I had to set up the lineup I would go a little different

Krebs-Thompson-Tuch(Krebs and Tuch together have just been too good to pass on)
Skinner-Cozens-Quinn(Cozens has been involved in a lot of Skinners scoring and giving them Quinn will open one of their lethal shots up)
Murray-Middlestat-Olofsson(good mix of scoring and leveling a bitch energy)
Girgensons-Hayden-Okposo(it can score, but really just kinda want to see Girgensons play as a Sabre and level people and I mean… They can score… Like 50 points combined.. also I'm using Peterka as a scratch because honestly he can fill anywhere on the lineup and has shown if you need him to score he can, need him to be a bit aggressive he can.)

    As for defense

    Dahlin-Joker(why fix what ain't broke?
Hagg-Pysyk(I want someone to hit someone to be all over the place)
Power-Bryson(can't expect to keep Miller and frankly want to shelter Power for a year anyway)

As for goalies I would run a trio… Because we fucking can't help injuries…

    UPL
Subban(he has shown his brilliance… Now next time let's not break his arm)
Tokarski(cannot lie he has impressed me, but I am also willing to swap him for Houser)

    As for who to ditch.

Anderson is going to retire. I'm amazed he was willing to fuck around with us this year, but for only this year thank you Craig you haven't disappointed.

Miller just trade him… I hate to admit it, but we are obviously going to go for min cap next year and I would rather overpay someone that will be playing for us when Power hits his prime and I doubt he will be here.

This is going to drag one thing back. Either Butcher or Pysyk. I prefer Pysyk as a stop gap to swap in and out with Samuelsson, but I think Butcher would like to prove he isn't as bad as he started the season.

Not Hinostroza. Keep that guy. He has worked well with Cozens so if you want to fuck around with where Quinn is he is the other winger for Cozens. Yes purposely put this here to fuck with people.

Dell is just… No… He has had a couple good games, but that hit that got him suspended ruined it. Besides Rochester is going to have Levi and I believe Portillo will be eligible for the AHL next year too. No need to waste the fun.

Oh also keep Fitzgerald. He either is a top 2 in the AHL or a top 6 in the NHL… He really doesn't fit in well as a 7th and it bothers me. Like he either has to be playing in one or the other or he feels like he gets sluggish for a bit after.

Also I would say stay away from going for free agents. We have a ton of cap, but if we save it we can secure Cozens, Middlestat, Quinn, Peterka, and Krebs to long term deals and save money in the future. Not to mention weirdly… Aside from "improving" and by improving I mean lying that Subban and Tokarski could 100% be a 2a 2b behind UPL for a total of like 2 mill max against the cap(where as if we sign someone it'll cost 4-8 mill) we really don't have to sign anyone. Like defense is growing great and we have(when healthy) an over abundance of defensemen and as for forwards we haven't even tried all of our options. Frankly I would take the savings and get a better set of conditioning and any sort of injury prevention training we can so we can not play magic players next year. Seriously I would be willing to blow our 20 mill in cap space on that alone(because signing people to fit within the cap).

Though I am happy with this year. No I didn't expect playoffs even with the hot start. I expected to see everyone grow. Granted I'm happily surprised Thompson and Middlestat have basically proactively told Shane Wright this is their house for the 2c spot(yes my future 1c is Cozens and he has taken to working on himself as a player and leader) which I fucking love. Why have a Crosby Malkin setup when we can go all the way to the 3rd line and make you suffer to beat our centers? Not to mention with Cozens seemingly becoming Skinners new best friend when it comes to him scoring(yes I've paid attention Cozens tends to be the one assisting Skinner on goals and I love it) and then having Quinn as a partner we could give to Thompson…

To explain my logic here I am going by what I've seen to be little combos that work well together. So far it's like this

Cozens and Skinner make goals happen
Quinn and basically anyone the kid just does it.
    Krebs and Tuch create magic
Dahlin plus anyone he has started to find that superstar traits and just forces plays at times to become what he wants and will find the perfect person to score or force it in himself
And then UPL just creates saves. Once he determined he wants a win it seems like you need to be Tampa to get him to give up at some point. And this is when he is new to the NHL. Give him a couple years and he will sus out their bullshit.
