Carolina needs a more consistent goalie, and a couple of heavy gritty forwards for my eyes. There’s more than enough offence there, when everyone’s healthy. I don’t think it would be smart to fiddle around with that D corps too much to make tweeks though, as depth on D is the backbone of that team. You brought up Lawson Crouse, he’d be a good fit there. They fell short in the Conference Final, because they lost the goaltending battle, and they didn’t have enough capable players to push back on the Panthers in the physicality department. Their top forwards are soft, just like the Leafs.
I wouldn’t touch Chiarelli as an NHL team.
The Leafs should’ve just kept Lou when they had him.
Tired of hearing about Dubas every day. He’s a mediocre GM at best, who’s getting more attention in the media than the actual playoffs are at this point. It’s ridiculous.
If I was in Arizona I’d be asking to be traded at this point. What a gong show. Bettman should be skidded over this endless embarrassment.
When a turtle like Matthew Tkachuk, and a guy like Sam Bennett can start dominating physically the way they’ve been, it just goes to show how soft the NHL has gotten as a whole. Fifteen years ago, there’s no way in hell that Bennett – especially, would have gotten away with running around hurting people the way he’s been all playoffs. There would have been a response, and someone would have put a stop to that shit a couple of series ago.
If I’m Vegas going into the final, there’s no way I’m letting that crap continue. Bennett would be getting a taste of his own medicine very early in that series. The other point of business, would be making Bobrovsky way more uncomfortable in his crease. We’ve yet to see a team really get in his grill to try and get him off his game. You gotta get a bunch of traffic in there and score ugly, because you aren’t beating him clean at this point.
Maybe some teams will wake up after these playoffs, and start drafting more big, gritty players, instead of always chasing the little munchkins who put up a bunch of points as teenagers. As long as a big guy can skate, you can always develop them into being an effective checker if the offensive side of their game doesn’t pan out. Not so much with the little soft guys.
As a Canadiens fan, not so much a Leafs fan, hire Bergevin, you'll probably regret it.

Kotkaniemi doesn't seem to be living up to the attention he garnered when the 'Canes offer sheeted him from Montreal a few seasons ago. I noticed, when he was still with the Habs, that he couldn't finish as well as he should have. A lot of that was attributed to his being so young. He would misfire on good scoring chances and I wasn't disappointed to see him leave Montreal. A couple of seasons later, and things haven't changed. The ECF against Florida exposed a lot of that, not to mention his blue-line turnover that led to a Florida goal in the series finale.
Treliving would be a good hire. Tkachuk didn’t want to stay. He wanted to go to the US. Huberdeau and Weegar are terrific talents. Wrong coach. Game passed Sutter by
Dubas is arguably the best GM on the market right now. To get as far as he did with the Toronto Maple Leafs. A team historically bad for no apparent reason.
But Bergevin is intriguing
If it was a Carolina Toronto trade i think necas would be out of the question i think the like his center spot and i dont think pesce would be in it but im just a fan

The so called Investigation centres on Wasserman not Kyle. The guy who broke the story said today, it is no big deal for Kyle.
Would the Canes consider JT Miller and that deal? Seems like he'd be a good Cane.
A Leafs GM has now changed (not sure I agree with it), let's bring in a Coach. I don't totally blame Keefe, but it is clear he has no stomach for holding players accountable. We need some skilled beef like the Tkachuck bros, Kane, Barkov, Ovechkin, Stone, Kucherov, Daughty etc, players that play for the name on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back. Until that happens we are gonna have to enjoy all the "pretty" hockey we see in the reg season. I think if they only have a few candidates, Bergevin may be our best bet. I would love to see Doug MacLean in the mix.

We traded Sandin to the Caps for a Dufas type player, and not add and try for Crouse. I’m glad it worked out that he got let go.
