    Man i hanvt been this happy in a long time when it comes to this team " Other then the win over TB ". Kyle is gone and his boys will follow him out the door just a matter of time " Holl , Keefe Kerfoot ". When you choose to be one of the figureheads of a billion-dollar organization you need to act right not sow the seeds of doubt in the media. Good riddance , onward and upward never look back 😊

    I don’t think Kyle Dubas being let go will impact Auston’s desire to stay. That said I definitely think he won’t extend if Mitch Marner is dealt. These guys have allegiance to each other first and the team and city second.

    Mike Futa should be next GM – there is a leaf tattooed on him – And if the league rescinds the suspension then Joel Quennville should be coach and maybe bruce boudreau as his assistant unless bruce wants to run the coaching position on the marlies – spencer carberry will be hired somewhere else – let's get out of these contracts right away and trade matthews and marner before july 1 and nylander and lilgegren during the summer or during the year – Make tavares uncomfortable so he waves his no movement – don't have to rebuild just retool with different philosophy

    Is hard on Leaf Trolls to lose Dubas. Best to trade Matthews now quick to Arizona before his no trade clause kicks in.

    What about Keefe? Keefe is Dubas' guy so he has to be gone too right? I won't miss Dubas one iota.

    Chris Draper would be an interesting replacement. Imagine him negotiating with Claude Lemieux

    Good analysis. Dubas saved Shanahan from himself. I wouldn't touch no trade clauses and max contracts with Matthews and Marner. I don't see how you can move one and then keep the other pissed off guy with a no trade clause calling his shots. Have to rio the band aid off and sell high. Matthews and Marner had their chance to lead a team together and blew it.

    Toronto is a mess. Dubas let a lot of good depth guys go (McCann, Jarvis, Verhaeghe) with poor trades/rental pickups. Marner makes 2 million too much, Nylanders contract was alright, it cost him a lot of money to get Tavares to leave the island. They need at least two good defenseman and gotta get rid of Marners contract. Even Matthews I wouldn't want him either. Look at the Golden Knights roster, thats how you build a competitive team.

    Calgary everything went wrong this year. They were the only team that scored more then they gave up that missed the playoffs

    Dubas showed weakness and doubt during his presser. That, and not money nor anything else changed Shanny's mind. He also showed weakness in contract negotiations…and he unravelled during the playoffs, showing weakness in his lack of ability to control his emotions publicly. He's also made some brutal trades, like the Kadri and Marchment deals. Hopefully, the next guy has some sandpaper and some hockey acumen in terms of recognising talent and need as well as dealing with agents.
