Valeur!
JJ Peterka may be the least heralded top prospect there is.
He’s 21 and has already accomplished:
• PPG season in the AHL
• Solid NHL rookie season
• World Championship Top Forward awardAll he does is produce wherever he is. All for a 2nd round pick? Value!

Nailing later picks like Peterka and (hopefully) Kulich is the difference between being a good team and a great team
Edit: underrated part of Peterka being great is [how miserable Senators fans are for passing on him twice when he had great chemistry with Stutzle](https://twitter.com/everydaysens/status/1663012205590085632?s=46&t=A9g-Am0a5jCjDIuzDBhpHw)
The 2020 draft really laid the foundation for everything that this team has become and will hopefully continue to develop into.
The Quinn pick was obviously great as well, but Adams hit it out of the park getting Peterka at 34. He has excelled at every level since being drafted from producing in the DEL to putting up damn close to a PPG season in the AHL to a very solid 20/21 year old rookie season in the NHL.
Getting guys outside of the first round who can thrive in a top six role is what builds cup contending teams and is something we were missing for years from incompetent front offices. I would not be surprised at all if Peterka makes the Cozens jump and is a 60-70 point guy next year.
Add another W to the Kevyn Adam’s pile
He was also the most dominant forward in the AHL playoffs last year with Amerks.
Krebsy and Peterka looked great in the AHL playoffs.
That and the IHL shows he can kick it into another level when the stakes are higher.
I was screaming and cheering so loudly when Adam’s traded up to get Peterka at the draft. I know he doesn’t trade up too often but I’m glad he did in this case and he definitely nailed it.
