  1. you never know. bedard could tank and some low draft pick could end up being the hawks saviour lol when it comes to players, it’s unpredictable, even with players that have been playing in the league for years. i’d hate to be bedard. having all that pressure on a sinking ship.

  2. If the hawks can find a way to get a 2nd pick in the 1st round there's a Hella ton skilled prospects in this draft

  3. They have a ton of cap space. I'm sure they'll find someone in free agency.

  4. I hope he has a decent line to work with to develop, as for a competitive team overall, obviously they need more than just Bedard for young players to grow a team with, so even if the team ends up with 25 wins, as long as Bedard has at least a couple of talented players to develop with, i dont see a huge problem

  5. Bedard is LITERALLY headed to a 2010 Oilers team as Hall did and 2015 as Eichel did. Good luck Hawks. Sad for Bedard. He should just outright say to the Hawks, Trade my pick, I will not play for you.

  6. He should be playing alongside with konecny and tippet. But I think it sucks for Bedard to start his career with a shit show of a team. I hate seeing talent stuck on a crap team. I mean look at eichel. He's doing great playing with a better support system where he can shine. Whereas we knew he's a great player but we all know what happened

  7. I like how you answer your own question. why can't they draft his help this draft. Don't they have 3 first.

  8. The Blackhawks have plenty of cap space to sign a free agent or two to play with Bedard.

  9. As a hawks fan I’m not looking forward to the prospect of him playing with Taylor Raddysh and Athanasiou even though they both had 20 goal seasons. Rumor has it we’re looking at options like Boeser/Garland and on the Uber optimistic side players like Taylor Hall or Arvidsson as they need to be “cap-dumped”..

  10. I said this at the time they won the lottery, he'll be lucky to put up 50 points playing with Tyler Johnson and Jason Dickinson who should really be on a third line if this were a contender.

Dunno how it works unless they try to go for a Tarasenko or a JVR, and I dont know if those guys move the needle enough at this stage of their careers.

  11. This is the point of a rebuild, you have to be bad to get good. The Pens were bad with Crosby at the start. Caps with Ovi, Oilers with Mcdavid. A rebuild takes time and you need to let the pieces fall into place and not rush it

  12. Good pickup would be Tavares if they get him to lift trade block

  13. Bring in vets who are big and tough to keep the flys off him to fill out the bottom of the roster. In terms of who is playing with bedard, I’m thinking they can bring in some young guys who need a chance. Kinda like sonny Milano in free agency last year. Cheap, young can maybe workout in the top 6, if not oh well try something else

  14. It would be funny if he refuses. Does he really want to play on a tanking team?

  15. Well, it's a good thing they have a ton of other picks over the next three drafts, and a whole lot of cap space, eh? There are a bunch of cap-strapped teams out there that will be forced to move players they might not otherwise want to move. Trades will be made, and Kyle Davidson is in the driver's seat. He has already spoken of his plans in numerous interviews since the lottery. They're not hard to find…

  16. Right, an overpaid and a washed up old guy, definitely what he needs. If they weren't from Chicago would anyone say they need to go sign those two? No.

  17. How is Jason Zucker not on the list of the "higher free agents"? The Pens were shopping him around before the beginning of season as a cap dump.
