As reasonable as this trade seems, Marner would greatly benefit more IMO if he stayed. I still have zero clue why people want him out, when it's the defence and wingers (and eventually, Samsonov and / or Murray) that have to go. The Core 4 are good where they are IMO, which is right here.

Marner and Matthews should be replaced by Acciari and Lafferty. That should keep everybody happy. Then you use the 10 or so draft picks that they get back and do Another rebuild, missing the playoffs for most of the rest of this decade. Why do the leafs want to trade for 2 guys that combined last season had 94 hits. How does that help a team that lacks physical play.
Marner plays pk1 pp1 and can play on any line period. Nylander played Pp2 no pk and struggles playing with certain guys. Great offensive player that lacks on d. We will trade him to a team with lots of good d and little offense to balance out both teams.
