  1. Buyout Suter, Let the kids on ELC play, (Lunkvist, Stankoven, Bourqe) and use that saving to shore up the D around Miro.

  2. I'm one of the 10 Stars fans watching. Keep up the great work. Love the channel. I really enjoy the no BS route you take with all the teams. Just strait facts and good commentary.

  3. Dallas needs grit, toughness, heart. They refused to stick up for each other. Refused to hit. They are a pure skill skill team. Pure skill will never win. Pure hitting will never win. You need both. They need big tough guys on their 3rd/4th lines to complete the team.

  4. Four contracts that are holding Dallas back massively, and in no particular order: Benn, Seguin, Suter, and Lindell

  5. The Stars need to trade forward depth for a true number 2 or 3 Dman. Miro and Harley are the only 2 dmen who can skate, exit the zone cleanly and contribute on offense. Maybe Nils gets better, we'll see next season. The 2 players who cost the the Stars the Vegas series are Lindell and Suter. Those 2 contract need to be bought out in the summer. It's 9+ million in current cap space and I think they would save 6m next season. Would love to see Orlov come to Dallas.

  6. Suter since injury a few years ago has been bad. Benn consistently disappears or does dumb shit at the flashpoint moments. Seguin was invisible after round 1.

  7. 1) Dallas seemed to have an uncomfortable over reliance on Otter. Wedgewood’s appearances were minimal.

    2) Suter and Lindell seemed shaky at times.

    3) Part of Vegas’ strategy was to stay out of the box and minimize Dallas’ PP effectiveness. Wild and Kraken didn’t do this. Might call into question 5v5 play.

  8. Stars will probably be a Fringe Playoff team as I don't think Otter is Ed Belfour more Turek or guy who caught with wrong hand. I remember when Seguin along with BEnn were like top players in NHL really thought Dallas Stars could make SCF and win :). Pavelski too small to win Cup but least he had a decent season for FAnasy hockey hehe. That is really all those smaller players can do as Sharks never got Championship with TMac PP giving up all those SHGs. They got some decent young players maybe the GM can draft better than Blake The Mistake for LA? Central is tough to guess year to year but Chicago will be better this year or next. Jets will probably struggle as always. Wild got cap issues. Colorado as well unless it rises. Long Year Ahead.

  9. Tough way to go out but the future is pretty bright with robo, hintz, miro, Jake, and Johnston. Hopefully Pavs stays around a few more years

  10. picking up a #2-3 Dman would help. There were some pretty egregious turnovers in all rounds that hurt and led directly to goals.

  11. Cant think of a more overpaid player then Tyler Seguin. Id take Yanni freakin Gourde over that dude.

  12. I'm gonna take a page out of Nill's book and say "I like where we're at." Young core, great veterans, top 10 goalie, and strong prospect pool. The next few years should be fun for Stars fans, fingers crossed we get it done, especially for Pavelski.

  13. Didn't see Marchment mentioned. He seems lost most of the time, Stankoven can come up and take Marchments place imo. Also what's going on with Suters contract? Hate to see us loose Dadonov and Domi but if Domi wants to go back to the Hawks and play with Bedard who can blame him.

  14. I'm not very familiar with how hockey contracts work, how they decide pricing and all the in betweens?? What did you mean when you mentioned Robertsons contract was theft?? Thanks!

  15. Frankly I was surprised we made it to the CF. For all the hype, Oetter just played his first complete season, and I complained to my closest hockey friends since December they needed to rest him more… but they didn't, and it showed up in all 3 rounds. He is very young and he will certainly learn from this and get even more hungry. But I think he had a disappointing playoffs. He wasn't moving very well laterally, plus his high glove side became a wellspring of goals for opposing teams. I am sure he knows what he needs to work on, and i trust he will do that, so next year could be the year. Kudos to the Stars for such a fantastic season. It really was impressive in spite of elimination!

  16. I think they should resign Domi and trade Benn. Although I’d say they wanna give there young guys a chance and Domi may have to go to free up a spot for the young guys, particularly Stankoven. They also need a legit backup, Quick would be a good fit there imo

  17. PROUDLY ONE OF THE TEN!!!

    My two cents
    1. Otter overplayed in regular season. I thought I saw one mention somewhere that he played (not started) in 41 of last 45 in regular season. Not sure how accurate that is, but it sure seemed to be so with Wedgie hurt a lot near the end.
    2. Blue line is the weakness here. It helps that they brought Harley up near the end of the year and that it looks like he played himself to a role next year, and of course Miro is Miro. Hanley is good for the price, but shouldn't play more than half the games. Is the Lundqvist trade a bust? I hope they give him another shot. The rest? Best I can say is that they are good at killing penalties. Buy out Suter. Too early to see if Bichsel can make the leap, but other than that all I saw were warm bodies in CP.
    3. Time to bring up Bourque, Blumel, Stankoven… see if they can shine. As bottom sixers Kivi looked good, so did Olof, and Ty epitomizes that group. But, they can mix/match here very easily with what they have in Big D and in CP without really having to sign anyone. Won't be getting rid of Benn/Seguin unfortunately.

    Like I said… two cents 😁

  18. I don’t think Miro is overrated but he definitely isn’t better then Dahlin like most Dallas fans were saying last year, Dahlin went 1st overall for a reason. It’s a team sport, Dahlin is a beast and will tear it up in the playoffs when given the chance

  19. So many boneheaded comments saying buy out Suter. Cause yeah, thats how Stars win the cup. Buying him out and eating dead cap space that they can't afford. So they cant pay players that they need and end up losing the talent that makes this team good. Get real.

A more realistic answer is bumping him down to second or third pairing and giving him less minutes, either he accepts a trade where he may get more minutes or he just plays out his remaining two years at 3.6mil. Keeping in mind that he doesnt play horribly considering how much he earns.
