1. Brad for Kyle it’s as good as Kadri for Kerfoot…the hockey world is laughing at you!

  2. Why do people think it's so easy to get players come to Toronto over other places? It isn't the case, who are these players that come here for less? Doesn't happen, unless they are at the end of there career

  3. Number one: Fire Keefe

Quinneville is fine. A team that was willing to overlook Keefe's history shouldn't have any problems with Quinneville. Sullivan is fine too. It is too bad Dubas didn't do his job, fire Keefe and go after Cassidy hard last year. The Leafs might be in the playoffs now if he had made that change.

If Matthews wants more than he is getting paid now, he should be moved. He is injury prone, that won't get better as he ages and his play falls off a cliff when they take Marner off his wing. Oh and McDavid should not be used as a comparison for Matthews, they are worlds apart in skill and effort.

Trade Marner. Man that would be epic. I can't wait to see Nylander playing top competition regularly.

Mangiapane is exactly what the Leafs need.

  4. I don't see Treliving as being the answer to the myriad of problems that currently plague Toronto. He never once reached the conference final in 9 years at Calgary 15:11 and at best can be considered average. It would have been better to have kept Dubas and maintain the status quo.

  5. Brad Treliving will be fine. Brad's problem in Calgary was he couldn't bring in free agents to Calgary as there building sucks. Zero facilities.

  6. Not convinced by the tree guy, but I hope I’m wrong. I hope at least they get Laviolette. Should have tried for McFee. Dubas never liked big mean players, and I didn’t like his small regular season players. We need playoff types!

  7. Bruce Boudreau as coach.

Talk to Winipeg see if you could get Helleybuck and Connor for Marner?

    Re-sign Aciari, Schenn and Kampf

  8. What if Matthews wants to stay in Toronto but is asking for 15M? Id say trade him, no?

  9. Guys, lets stop talking about Dubas. That ship has sailed. There is more data associated with the conclusion that the Leafs would never win a Cup with him, than data leading to the opposite conclusion. Get over it – we're not talking about Sam Pollock here. The moves that Treliving made in Calgary in the wake of the Gaudreau/Tkachuk meltdown were bodacious, brave and creative. I thought that was the best off season performance last summer by any GM (sorry, Pierre Dorion). He'll have way more air cover and resources in Toronto than he ever had in Calgary. Look at the Golden Knights and the Panthers … they never would have stuck with Dubas! He would have been gone last season if not before and they're both in the Stanley Cup Finals. Let's see how this all shakes out.

  10. Liked the content in this video. If I was the new GM, I would look at everyone. If Matthews wants north of 13 million I would be trading him. Would you win the trade….it depends on what the return is. If you get a top center back …and you'd have to… and a quality top 4 D'man the team may be better.
What did 60 goals in a season do for the Leafs in the playoffs?
Has A. M. taken the team on his back and willed them to win in the playoffs…No!
The final 4 teams this year had talent but not the superstar talent of Edmonton or Toronto. This is not basketball and one superstar does not (Gretzky excluded) alter the outcome like in basketball. You need a strong team.

  11. I hope the BT is able to right some wrongs from his past. Bad trades and star players walking in free agency.

  12. I'm with Dave Morassutti on the Quenneville thing. As a society we believe in punishment, rehabilitation and second chances. I'd certainly explore if he truly understands what went wrong in Chicago, expresses remorse for his failure to act, and has good answers for what he would do differently if ever confronted again with the same situation. His pedigree otherwise is impeccable. The question is who wins us a Cup? If that's the focus, give Quenneville lots of support and oversight, get someone to manage his rehabilitation in the public eye, and get him behind the bench. Not a vote for Quenneville … rather a vote to win a cup. The Quenneville situation is not trivial but it is manageable. If we don't hire him, let it be for reasons associated with on-ice success.

  13. Treliving is a safe pair of hands with a good track record of making substantial trades that improve his team. He finds gems in the draft. And he has a better of history of finding goalies than Dubas.

  14. 1) Fire Keefe – he has been outcoached five series in a row. 2) trade Matthews – you need to shake up this team – Matthews is a wuss, not a power forward – matthews isn't worth $14 million next year, yet alone $11.3 this year – Matthews will get you the pieces that you need NOW, because the Leafs only have a two year window, with or without Matthews – trade him to NYR or LA. 3) goalie, goalie, goalie

  15. Those Leaf "gamebreakers" ain't breaking anything in the playoffs, trust me. Trade 'em all.

  16. Component of the players need to change after 6 years to bring about a different look. It could mean keep the core 4 or trade one or two or all.

  17. If Dubas can meet with Crosby prior to accepting a job, why not Shanny speaking to his players about the new GM. It only makes sense to have most of them on board.
