Oooh….Brodie said Dublin, my Bay Area hometown. I played ice hockey there at Dublin Iceland in 1994 in a pickup game.
Here’s a comment for the analytics.
Would be nice to see a good roller hockey facility down that way too.
Livermore has 2 mini rinks and is trying to build a full size rink. Covid put them behind but hopefully we will see something soon. My son plays for the Tri Valley Blue Devils and the Bay Area truly needs more rinks.
Yes! Stretch out the game, Sharks.
Brodie, I’ve been bugging city councils of Walnut Creek / Concord / Pleasant Hill for decades. Contra Costa County doesn’t have an ice rink. It would be a massive benefit.
BRODIE F@$CKING BRAZIL !!! Such a gentleman
Hey Brodie…There has been youth ice hockey in the Bay Area for a lot longer than the Sharks have been here. The Santa Clara Blackhawks, Tri Valley Blue Devils, Belmont Rangers, Stockton Colts, Berkley/Oakland Bears, Santa Rosa Flyers, etc, have all been around since the 1960s and 70s. Growing up and playing ice hockey on the east coast, I came to California in the late 80s as a teenager and was aware of these teams. Hockey has been around and available to kids here for a long time, and available to hockey families, mostly transplants from the east, and Midwest. There WERE good coaches here then…the Sharks, infused new life in to youth hockey here, made people more aware of hockey, but if you knew hockey, you knew where to find it before the Sharks arrived.
Great stuff Brodie – I agree 100% we gotta grow this wonderful game in the Bay Area and northern California. The Kings and Ducks have done a great job of running rinks all of SoCal and there are a handful of NHL draftees from there. Vegas is doing well too. Easily two more locations in East Bay, one more between San Jose and San Mateo, and another in the city or SSF like you said.
I hope they come to Sacramento
Waiting for San Jose Sharks to move out of the SAP since Google Village is going to force them out.
Gilroy is 15 minutes away from me so looking forward to it if it happens. Sharks Ice is too far for people in San Benito County
