As a neutral fan, Nashville was the franchise I noticed least this season. And yet, the kids impressed in the 2nd half and made me take notice.
Evangelista and Tomasino were spark plugs, Novak is an effective grinder and Glass finally looks like a regular NHLer (I was doubtful)! Add to this
Kemmel looking promising at the worlds and the WHL champ Reid Schafer (savvy pick-up from EDM) and the future looks bright. it isn't just D-men now!
Go Remparts!!
Great to see the leafs do what they do best..SUCK!🍭
During the season I called for Hynes to be fired repeatedly, after how well Nashville played while the entire team was injured i was ok with him staying one more year if Trotz saw it fit, that being said, I'm perfectly fine with him getting canned
Andrew Brunette is a dud of a head coach, awful. He inherited coach Q’s autopilot Panthers and drove them into the ground during last years playoffs early exit… said Panthers fan
Come on bears close out the series on my birthday.
So, Preds should be fun to watch next season then!
Please don’t turn into a new the guy who followed Trotz. Forget the bald guys name. He sucked in the playoffs em when the caps were still a great team back in 2019-20.
every one in Nashville knew hynes was gone surprised me little when thg said he thought trotz would keep him
Carbery? Is that short for Carburetor?
I would love to have Patrick Roy coach in CBJ.
Brunette scored the first goal in Nashville predators history. This should be mentioned
I am also interested in the coaching job in calgary
Even thou i know nothing about coaching hockey players
But….
Interesting development for Brunette, an original Predator.
This NSH team will be different from the FLA one he took over for, but they have a lot of picks and upcoming talent to go w/ the talent already there.
The same record as FLA’s (42-32-8) although 13 W’s came in the OT/SO. So he isn’t taking charge of a struggling team, just a work in progress.
Gallant seems to have a history of questionable coaching decisions.
Joke is lost on me with how Shannon is pronouncing Coachella .
Hynesight is 20/20 for us here in Nashville. Happy with the change and familiarity with the man that scored our first goal as an expansion team. President's Trophy winner, Jack Adams finalist, and the aforementioned…yet there's still a bit of questioning on whether this is a good fit in my opinion…time will tell. We all thought it may be Karl Taylor in Milwaukee for their success and his knowledge of developing players within this system. 🤷
I trust Trotz.
FYI – Coachella is pronounced Co-chell-a
Can you please let me know where you order your Jersey's from.
I must be out of the loop why is coachella valley pronounced like that?
THE PREDS GM SCREWED HYNES…………….AND NOW THE DEVILS LOSE BRUNETTE AN EXCELLENT COACH
Stoked for Bruno. I was shocked when the Panther’s decided to let him go (obviously it worked out).
He’s such a good dude. I miss him in Minnesota.
Mitch Love is the best candidate for the Calgary Flames as head coach.
great post love to here news on memorial cup ahl and echl we do not get any news about this in Cincinatti ohio
I'm assuming you meant Coachella Valley and not Cowichan lol
Sucks to see Brunette go as a Devils fan, but it was inevitable after the great season they had. Ruff's success and desire to keep coaching this team sealed Brunette off from taking over, which I think was the plan with Ruff's contract expiring. I'm very grateful for his time and contributions to the young players of NJD. Enjoy, NSH. Solid pickup
Beautiful jersey!
That is one UGLY sweater, Shannon
Curious why the Preds magnet is mirrored
It was a big sticking point for the Caps in this search that they wanted a coach who wasn't afraid to play young guys and give them a real chance to earn roles, which Laviolette was unwilling to do. I like the hire, it's something new at least.
THG, I'm not following you on why it made sense for the NYR to fire Gallant ? Yes , he was slightly lacking in game adjustments & system structure. But he did have a very straight shot point that "talent alone isn't enough" . He's 100 % right & he probably ? why they brought in Kane. Tarasenko & Mikkola played well most of the time but Kane was hit or miss whether it was due to injury or not. Drrury made the same mistake most of the NYR GM's have made by trying the superstar route in trades & it backfired. The NYR should NEVER have declared the rebuild over & started to make moves for vets costing them future picks/players. They truly NEED to focus more on better scouting , drafting & player development to build the team w/ youth who have speed , grit & get a coaching staff to develop a better, tighter defensive structure to help out another potential HOF caliber goalie to win a Cup.
After watching the NYR for 56 yrs mostly make the safe obvious choices for known coaches & players past their star days, I think that their next HC should be an "out of the box" decision. Either someone like P. Roy w/ obvious success as a NHL HOFer but as a coach @ a minor league level. Or a M. Messier w/ HOF credentials as a player but NO HC experience other than leading the NYR to a SC in '94 when M. Keenan was flaking out during the playoffs. If not a HOF player/coach , maybe the coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack K. Knoblauch who was good during his week coaching the NYR when Gallant was out ill.
Nearly lifelong Predators fan speaking…
With no hard feelings toward any names named whatsoever, as excited as I was to see Laviolette come in and as much as I will defend that as being the right choice at the time I felt that his time had more than expired in 2020. That said, while the likes of Johansen and Duchene clearly needed Hynes's brand of leadership, he was simply a deadend stop-gap borne from the shallow coaching market at the time. I never saw the kind of success the Tennessee market desperately needs (a freakin' championship victory in ANY pro sport) coming from him in a hundred years.
Verdict's out on Brunette (and patience is the name of the game for the foreseeable future anyway as we rebuild), but I've got to say that as a loyalist it is a wonderful feeling right now to have Trotz back (nearly as much as Poile he could be called the soul of our organization) and a deeply nostalgic throwback taking the reigns behind the bench.
