  1. They do well in the regular season beating up on L.A., Anaheim, Van, Calgary, Edmonton…notice a pattern here…all the teams in their division which are weak or are no longer near their former glory. This propels them to the top of their division. Don' t believe me… They have 17 wins out of 21 games against those mentioned division rivals. I've been saying this again and again they just don't have it when it comes to playoff time….I don't know why but they just seem to fall off time and again against different opponents.

  2. I'm a sharks fan and i like our team, i think they are going to be a fun team to watch this year

  3. As I commented before, and you just mentioned, Burns is the key. I think that Wilson and the coaching staff should sit down with Burns before the season starts and talk to him about improving his game in the defensive end. If he does better, San Jose will be hard to beat.
I really enjoyed your analysis and I hope you are right. One thing that can always upset the apple cart with any team is the injury factor and some of S.J.'s players are getting older. That's my worry.

  4. as a sharks fan I think we will come 2nd. Wouldnt mind 1st but the pacific is so unpredictable this year. Vegas could repeat again this year, Ducks are still a solid team, Kings got stronger with Kovalchuk.

  5. I think the only reason San Jose did better against Vegas than Winnipeg was because Winnipeg just got done playing a 7 game battle against Nashville, where as San Jose swept the Ducks and had a nice easy break.

  6. San Jose does 0 in the off season and Vegas picks up the 2nd best Center UFA behind John Tavares. And you still put San Jose ahead of us!?

  7. I’m a Sharks fan and live on the east coast, Nova Scotia to be exact. I watched Meier play and he stepped up big time and will continue to grow. Sharks will have a decent year. Thornton will get hurt. Wilson will trade Labanc and someone for Patches.

  8. Sharks have been a dark horse team for years. The Shark have a 1-3 record (04,10,11,16) in the WCF since they drafted Marleau back in 1997's entry draft. Still dislike the Sharks for knocking my Wings out in the semi-finals in 10 and 11, the Wings would have beaten the Hawks in 10 (Dats and Z were too much for the Hawks then). I'm not sure about 11, Sedins n company were a damn good club that year.

  9. Solid breakdown. My only bone of contention would be when you said “Thornton missed a lot of time in the playoffs.” I think it’s more clear to say Thornton missed the entire playoffs.

  10. Best of the California teams and can easily put them in first in the Pacific. Been able to reload over the years to stay consistent. Joe Thornton can adjust to a role player on the bottom six and provide depth at this stage of his career.

  11. I think convincing evander kane to stay in San Jose was a great addition by sharks I'm flames fan but think the sharks are going to battle it out with the ducks this year

  12. so does anyone else remember praplan's goal that was the 1v1 champ on tsn for like 3 weeks like 3 years ago? no? just me?

  13. if your bored you should do top 10s evrybody likes top 10s

  14. As a Golden Knights fan, the Sharks concern me the most. I'm hoping Vegas will be first in the Pacific again, but I also believe San Jose may finish first. Vegas sneaked up on everyone, because they didn't know what to expect. Now, they'll come gunning for us. I can't wait for the season to start, because the Knights games are going to get a touch uglier, especially against San Jose and LA. (It's good to have rivals!) As far as playoffs, if Vegas meets San Jose, I fear the Sharks could avenge their loss, and make a deep push. But if Vegas repeats the strong play of last season, don't bet on it. See you on November 24th, San Jose.

  15. One thing that's interesting about DeBoer is that he doesn't set lines to where the "best" players will be on the 1st/2nd line. He goes with a balanced 4 line offense with typical 4th line guys playing on the 1st line. Last year we essentially had 3 2nd lines

  16. It's been fun to watch your evolution over time as a hockey fan. Not that long ago you would have said, "I really don't like the Sharks". Now it's "I don't cheer for the Sharks".

  17. Tomas Hertl is one of the most underrated players in the league imo. This is coming from a Bruins fan who could give a shit about the sharks

  18. Thornton is my favourite non-Oiler player in the league. Sharks are so much like the Caps were. Always a bridesmaid never a bride. I hope they win for Thornton so long as they don’t have to go through the Oilers.

  19. Hey man, I'm a brazilian english teacher, and I watch the NHL sometimes. I love watching your videos because of your english. It's easy to understand, I like your pace and your opinions. Also you're talking about fuckin' hockey, that's awesome!

  20. Lots of major contracts with lots of term. Its do or die for that team. Burns can be phenomenal. Good team for sure. I just think Thornton is finally done….I say that every year. As good as they are, and they are, its going to be a real challenge getting to the Cup past those lurking beasts in the Central Division.

  21. Idk about San Jose being first in their division… honestly that might be pushing it a little. Hey if they stay healthy, then yeah maybe! But I look at Vegas and a more determined LA as teams that are going to give the Sharks hell. Either way I definitely agree their a playoff team

  22. Sharks need to move on from Wilson. I know he's gotten then some good players but the fact of the matter is he was their GM during 3-0 choke job and he still has a job?

  23. I am surprised to see almost half the votes picking them to win the Pacific. I think Vegas will regress from their amazing rookie season but still be challenging for top spot. I also think the Kings are going to be quite a bit better this year. If anything I see the Sharks sliding back a little. I have them 3rd. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

  24. Hello Shannon, I think you should redo this video. The San Jose Sharks (My Team) has changed and with Karlsson joining and losing Tierney and Demelo, I think this year is a Change for San Jose. What's your thoughts?

  25. As a Sharks fan I want to see Thornton hoist the cup after all these years in San Jose. Wish the same happened with Marleau when he was in San Jose, also.

  26. Sharks are always interesting to watch, they seem to have an ability to pull out games that seem to be out of their reach.

  27. So, put this out before we traded for Karlsson. “DeMelo was brought back”. Well, ya, sort of.

  28. Managed to get 2 wins away from another Stanley Cup Final……a lot better than every other team.
