  1. How does Karlsson/Kane work? Rumors were they really didn't get along in San Jose.

  2. Having Barby leave would suck! I don’t want Meier or EK to be traded, but I realize that we are in rebuild mode

  3. His contract makes him basically unmoveable but I feel they’d make something work such as have SJ maintain salary or find a third team

  4. ha yes, offense, the oilers only problem… Toronto has been trying that road for years, it doesn't work. Since the Blues seems to be tanking this year, I would try to get Faulk or Parayko and a forward like O'Reilly or Saad. All of them could keep going for 5-6 years and would bring speed and stability in defense and PK.

  5. if a third team is eating cap on this deal, edmonton is paying them to do it. since it's for another 4 years, the oilers are paying a 1st for it. possibly more. and that's on top of what they send to the sharks.

if the oilers want EK, send barrie, JP, and foegele, along with bouchard/broberg and a 1st. and probably a 2nd or B level prospect. then they can hope their AHL team has enough guys to cobble together a competent 4th line for the NHL team.

this would be such an oilers thing to do. they have absolutely no problem scoring, and their problem is defense, and sometimes goaltending. what do they do? acquire an expensive dman who doesn't play any defense. they think it's the 1980s again. well, nowadays defense a nd depth win in the playoffs, and edmonton doesn't have that and this trade does not help that. karlsson would give the oilers exactly nothing they don't already have.

the karlsson deal that would make the most sense is to dallas, for seguin, mavrik bourque, and a 1st. i've been saying it for months. it only saves 1.65m, but you have to take garbage contracts when you're trading an 11.5m player.

  6. If Eric Karlsson gets traded to the Oilers McDavid Karlsson and draisaitl would definitely be a l 1st line as a golden knights fan I would be concerned about if we played them in the 1st round 😳😳😳😳😯😯😯😯😰😰😰😰

  7. I wouldn't like them moving barrie…
Fogele,Ceci, yammamato, puljarvi, jankrook…. they would need to retain at least 5mil…if I was the oilers I would do anything to get this done with keeping barrie and Bouchard…I think broberg is expandable…

  8. In my podcast, I explained why Erik Karlsson, won't go anywhere during this deadline, it's even questionable during the summer. Reasons: the contract is very heavy, injuries might be a concern for others, Karlasson finds himself more comfortable in SJ after Burns moved to Carolina. For him and the club is better not to rush and sit and reflect together during the summer.

  9. Oilers receive
    Erik Karlsson $5,750,000 (30% retain $3,450,000 sharks, 20% retain $2,300,000 blackhawks) + Steven Lorentz
    Sharks receive
    Tyson Barrie + Jesse Puljujarvi + Dylan Holloway + 2023 1st Round
    Chicago receives
    2024 2nd Round + Tyler Tullio

  10. I have more money in my bank account than the oilers have in cap space and I'm a janitor ok! and the dumb oilers fan and dumber ken holland wants Karlsson. I'm about to lose it but these fools.

  11. Trade nurse for Karlsson and give them Jesse Puljujarvi that is I’ll even out the cap hit

  12. People need to understand that no 3rd party team will take on 4 years worth of salary for a draft pick. It's just bad management. Also, Teams are limited in how much salary (edit: percentage and number of separate contracts) they can retain. As an Oilers fan I'd love to get Karlsson, but as a realist, it only has about a 5% chance of happening. Not sure how everything will shake out, but excited to watch it all happen!
