I'm just relieved this is over. But I think this is a great hire. Is Dubas's reputation overblown because of the Toronto hype machine? Possibly. But I think Dubas is just the type of person you want in charge, especially when you're trying to maximize the last years of Crosby/Malkin/Letang, and the subsequent rebuild.
So excited
This is indeed a great day for The Pittsburgh Penguins and City of Pittsburgh. After watching that press conference, I don't think there is any question they made the right decision. Just listening to him and seeing how he handled himself with the media and the fact he has already had conversations with both Mike Sullivan and Sidney Crosby, speaks volumes. I have absolutely no doubt, Pittsburgh will embrace Kyle Dubas. The fact he already mentioned about needing to be deeper, addressing goaltending and defense, should say something.
What really caught me was when he said you need to measure yourself against your division, because that is where you play the bulk of your games. I 100 percent, agree with that statement.
Definitely a great day for the penguins…I feel so much better for this team in the now and in the future …thank you so much again hunter for all the updates and all you do!! Keep it up …again much appreciated ✌✌👌👏
Thank god this is over haha. I was a little thrown off that he's not the GM, but it sounds like he is gonna be in charge of basically everything, including finding a GM, and plus Kyle is gonna handle GM duties in the interim he said.
It's a great move if he can bring in talent like Toronto has.
This is seismic for our prospect pool and the rebuild, if nothing else. This man really understands drafting and development.
11 years in the AHL as scout/GM. 5 years as NHL GM with huge progress for the Marlies throughout his tenure.
I'm very happy with a Pens decision for the first time in a long time 😃.
FSG! YES! Well done! Now get Tulsky as GM.
Good luck with that.
