  1. shocked they didn't snatch JVR. Feel like the Jets didn't make enough moves this deadline.

  2. Every time I think Chevy made the "wrong" move…I google Laine's stats…and wonder how he knew after the flash came the fizzle…as for this current team, they have shown the team played above themselves with 5-6 top players being injured and Moose'd up.

  3. There are many players the Jets have nurtured since they were drafted by the Jets. They are not kids anymore. loyalty comes to mind. Did Chevy do enough to show his players that he believes they deserve to win the Cup? Hmm. only the playoffs will tell (if they make the playoffs).

  4. If the trade deadline was about this group, and this year, then why did Chevy not do anything lol… that statement makes no sense

  5. … I mean I guess this was a big deadline for the Jets standards but they didn’t really do anything

  6. Luke Schenn would have been a good fit. The Jet D is smaller (Morrisey/Schmidt/DeMelo/Pionk) and is NOT playing well at this time (Pionk is playing badly). They could have used a guy like Schenn in the playoff run. IF they make the playoffs.

  7. For Chevy to sit there and say the focus was all about this year's team is just complete BS. He spent the bare minimum to add two depth players who are over 30 which doesn't even come close to filling the holes this team has.

They needed to add a decent top 6 forward that could find the back of the net. They needed to upgrade their blue line with a big, physical d-man. He doesn't even try to address that, but says the focus was about this year's team. What it looks and feels like is that he's unwilling to do what it takes to make this team better. If he's not committed to giving the team the best chance to win, why should players want to re-sign. Hellebuyck is having to stand on his head every night just to give this team a chance because he has no help. If Chevy's not willing to put competent talent on the ice in front of him to properly defend and be more responsible with the puck, why should Hellebuyck choose to re-sign after next year? Why shouldn't Connor and Morrissey ask for trades to teams that want to commit to winning?
