You are going to bring in a guy in Lucic who has played for arguably 3 of our most hated opponents in recent years (Hi Hawks n Kings) I think I'll take a pass. Too tainted. Canucks also were contemplating Byfuglien after they were ousted in painful fashion. This club is so long overdue for an identity, do not embarrass yourselves with bringing in guys who were part of making the Franchise a laughing stock. New blood.
Lucic would be a big mistake. Sure he makes the team tougher. But would he make the team better? I doubt it. And he would take a roster spot from someone else. The idea is to make the team better unless you want the 11th or 12th pick next year. We would definitely be in the mushy middle for sure if we get him. OEL and him for the next few years? If we pick someone pick quality and some pedigree. He said he would like to be a Canuck twenty years ago. He is like milk in the fridge where the expiration date has expired. The milk doesn't taste bad but do you want to keep tasting to see if it hasn't gotten sour and curdled. Every day there is a worse chance for that milk. And it is back on the shelf in the dairy section. Don't buy it. When we got OEL I was like WTF! I was totally against picking him long before we got him. Montour was available. Gudas was available. There are teams going to trade this year and we are above the cap. That is unless people think that everyone coming in in shape will change our future. Boeser for Lucic? I doubt any takers for OEL. Garland, Anthony? I think we would have to trade a decent player to get Lucic. No team will give us anything. Just to cut the cap. People like Yzerman are salivating when they taste blood in the water. Must not be good chum because no bites as of yet.
I'd rather keep Burroughs than Bear
I like Bear a lot, but he's a 3rd pairing defenceman and Vancouver played him like a top 4, so he's going to want to get paid like a top 4 guy and they can't afford to do that. The Canucks players had a harder than normal time working out when they came to camp this season, between the lack of a training facility and the players area in Rogers Arena still closed for renovations, so they didn't have access to their lockers, weight room, etc.

Had to be catalyst for rule change lol but they did break rules when they were in place so still deserve fine. Sucks but sometimes that what it takes for them to change a dumb rule. Plus hate Aquilini and wish he would sell the team so glad this happened to him and cost him 50k.
