« He’s been an assistant with the Leafs and the Isles. He’s been in charge of the AHL’s Colorado Eagles since 2018. »

Ducks stream will air the presser at 11:30

Apparently he was the cofounder of the United States National Development Program. That’s kinda neat.

Okay some new blood. Sounds like he’s great for development too. Let’s just pray his systems aren’t complete trash.

  3. chriskug

I’m down for new blood. I don’t know anything about him, but i’m really happy we didn’t go back to the well again for some dude’s 6th NHL head coaching job in 12 years.

I don’t know how to feel about this. Is this coach ready to not only help develop our young prospects but also succeed and help us win more games?

Lastly, he looks like he’s a protagonist on the Hit TV show Succession. Or possibly a 90’s movie villain.

  5. smokeey

Well if he can coach defense I think the wins will come naturally.

  6. ShowYourHands

who da fook is that guy?

Just kidding, Welcome to future Stanley Cup winners, baby!

  7. scottap26

He’s been pretty successful with the Eagles.

    298 total games, 164-104-30

This is an intriguing hire. Pretty happy to see this.

  8. PossumJ16

My take is that he’s the place holder for McIlvane when this team is ready to contend.

  9. Who?

Alright. Honestly more and more happy it’s not Bruce or some other journey man. New blood is good and this guy has a good track record in the AHL

  10. xTOASTEDxREVOLTx

never heard of’em. New is good, until it’s not. Just play defense please?

  11. Theukrainmaker

Avs fans are upset they’re losing him that’s a good sign

I just hope he has the same mindset as Verbeek, meaning he has a clear plan forward and knows how to execute on it.

I’m glad it’s somebody getting a new opportunity.

Recycling coaches seems a bit old. Coach getting on his 5th seem is going to suddenly find success?

Coach getting his first shot may not fair better but maybe it’s worth taking a shot?

Re- signing Terry, Drsydal and Z will be PV’s contracts.

Fowler is only long term Dman signed. Build up the D.

Opportunity to shake up goalie tandem.

    PV now has his coach.

    Big draft coming up.

Time for the team to start taking steps forward.

This is PV’s team now, for better or worse.

Next, let’s get new jerseys yeah?

Welcome Cronin, thank you for stepping up to hopefully develop our younger talent and be the punching bag for the rest of the 2-3 season rebuild. Once the team is a season away from making the playoffs or if we finish in the bottom 5 again – you’ll be replaced by a bigger name coach that’s available at that time in the future.

  16. Widjamajigger

Avalanche fans are legitimately bummed that he’s gone (he was their AHL coach for years and they loved him), so that bodes well.

I, for one, am nothing but optimistic about this. A fresh coach on the scene with a focus on developing young players, and a recent winning pedigree? Sign me up, Beekman.

  17. Visual_Bottle_285

    Spendthrift decision.

He’s 60 – with no NHL HC experience and no real track record of success or impact. 🙄

  18. dracomaster01

Cool. Don’t know much about him obviously but im excited.

  19. jamiejsstr

I will give him a chance as I know nothing of him, however, first shot as an NHL head coach 35 years in the league? Usually there is a reason so many teams have passed on a guy like this.
