Fuuuuuuck all that noise
After how miserable the first half of the season was, I would’ve been all for this for Saros sake. But after how the second half went and that we actually have an optimistic future for once, im glad this didn’t happen.
With Askarov coming up, someone’s gonna have to get traded. If we can get a large number of quality picks and prospects to surround Askarov, I’d be down
This would put a damper on my dream of seeing 35 and 74 next to each other in the rafters for eternity ….
Obviously not in the front office, but I would be willing to bet the plan is to repeat what we had with Rinne and Saros. Have a capable back up these next one to two seasons while Askarov continues to develop in the AHL. Then bring him to Nashville to back up Saros and then transition to him being the number 1. If he develops sooner than expected then one could get traded.
Hell no, I’m not sure if there is any package that would make me ok with that. Outside of an obvious overpay
If one gets traded it should be Askarov 100%. Saros is a top 4 goalie in the league. You put him on any legit playoff team and he wins Vezina hands down.
As a prospect, you are HOPING that Askarov can develop into Saros. Trade Askarov for a HAUL – both players that can help now, and prospects for the future. Preds are in a great position goaltender-wise, but if you trade Saros, you will regret it.
